“That’s admirable.” Logan smiles at her, running his fingers over her knuckles. “I can’t wait to taste your food.”

“I would love to bake for you. It’s going to be a while before we can open. It sucks because I don’t have a kitchen.”

Logan and I exchange glances. “We had an idea,” he starts. She turns her full attention to him. “We live out of town and have a separate cabin we never use. It has a small kitchen, bedroom, and living room. It’s not much, but we would love it if you used it. Our kitchen is large, and we hardly cook. Las is the only one of us that can make anything worth a shit.” He clears his throat. “You would be close by; it would be easier for you to get to know us, and we would feel more comfortable with you next door.”

“What is the rent?” she asks, not batting an eye.

“Cheap,” Logan says dryly.

“Really, Handsome.” She crosses her arms, which pushes her gorgeous tits together—I’m not mad about it. “I have to pay something.”

“You would be doing us a favor,” Las says, and we all stare at him. “I don’t know if you understand what an unfulfilled bond does to a shifter. You may need time, and we understand that. But when a shifter finds their mate, they are all that matters. The bond starts for us right away. We want to be near you; it’s painful to be apart.”

Las is a genius, even though everything he said was true. Breeane’s eyes fill with sympathy. She puts her chin on his shoulder, and Las dips his head towards her.

“I don’t want that,” she says softly. “I have to pay something.”

“Bake for us,” Las says.

“What?”

“You can pay us with what you love.” Las taps his finger on her chin.

“I would love to,” she agrees.

“Perfect,” I say. “I’m dying to eat your…cakes.” I grin slowly.

The waitress comes with our food, helping me avoid the knowing looks from my brothers aimed my way.

I just take the first bite of food when Breeane tries to kill me, saying, “I’ve had no complaints about my,” she grins back at me. “Treats.”

Dead.

Fuck, I’m going to love this woman.

Chapter Six

Breeane

Iknow what they are doing. I can practically see all the dirty thoughts running through Lucus’s head. Am I going to let them work me?

Yes, yes, I am.

I don’t know if it’s the mating bond or if I am just naturally comfortable with them. My gut is telling me that this is right. That I should trust them. My body is definitely on board with being with them, but I want to learn about them. I can sense something tense between them. Three brothers working and living together should be more at ease in their relationship.

I have to find out why.

“So, how long have you guys lived here?” I don’t miss the long pause after the question. I look up from my burger to see Lucas glancing at Logan quickly.

“It’s been a few months,” Logan finally answers.

“Why did you move here?” I ask. I dip a fry in ketchup while I wait for them to decide what to tell me.

“I met some of the people here.” Logan grabs his napkin off his lap and puts it on his empty plate.

“They must have been nice.” They have so many secrets. That’s alright because I’m really patient.

“You didn’t have many friends you left to move here, did you?” Lucas asks. He also finished his food. He leans back, his fingers drumming on his water glass.
