We spent quite some time in bed, wrapped up in one another, talking about our growing baby and occasionally nodding back to sleep. After another short nap, I woke up to the sound of running water before the taps turned off. Levi returned from the ensuite a moment later.
He offered me a kind smile. “I just ran a bath for you. It should be cool enough to get into now.”
I rubbed the sleep from my eyes before I put my hand in his. “You didn’t have to do that.”
“But I did because today is about you and the miracle you’re growing inside you,” he said, gently pulling me toward him until I was close enough to be scooped up in his arms with very little effort. “Plus, I want my turn to spoil you.”
I couldn’t help but laugh to myself as I held on all the while he carried me bridal style toward the ensuite. “You won’t hear me complaining.”
“Good,” he stated simply, guiding me to my feet again once we reached the tub. “Because you have a full day of this ahead of you.”
While the statement intrigued me, I was distracted by the heavenly smell from the tub, and the thought of soaking sounded increasingly tempting. Peering into the water, I found the water was soft peach with little flower petals floating on top. It almost looked like something from a spa.
“That smells amazing,” I commented, still holding Levi’s hand all the while he guided me into it patiently.
“Rosemary has been gifting me bath salts and oils for a long time, but I finally have a use for them,” he murmured, sounding pleased with himself.
A satisfied shiver moved through me as the warm water touched my skin, and I slowly sank into it. As more of my body was covered, I found myself slipping into relaxation. Leaning my head against the small pillow secured to the tub, I closed my eyes and soaked in the fruity smell of the salts and oils.
“Thank you,” I murmured, feeling the most relaxed I had in a long while. “This is incredible.”
“I’ll leave you to it, then. Breakfast will be ready by the time you come downstairs,” he hummed, leaning forward to kiss my forehead.
The small affection sent a spark of appeasement through me, and I could feel my inner wolf keening from it.
“I don’t need to take up all your time today,” I said, feeling somewhat guilty to have so much of his attention, even if I enjoyed it. “I know you’re busy.”
“Not today,” Levi said gently, using the side of his finger beneath my chin to hook my full attention. “As I said, today is for you. As important as my business and position as alpha are, you are my mate, and I won’t let you feel anything short of appreciated. Especially today.”
As much as I tried to fight against it, I couldn’t push away the warmth as it flooded my cheeks. Although, I silently blamed the warm water.
Before I could even attempt to protest, he pressed the next kiss to my lips before he smiled at me and pulled away, disappearing from the ensuite.
Left to deal with the overwhelming rush of feelings that consumed me from the contact alone, I sank further into the water and let go of a deep breath. With our activities from that morning fresh in my mind, it didn’t take much for his attention to stir that desire within me.
As much as I wouldn’t mind another round with him, I knew we couldn’t delay the day forever.

As promised, an entire spread of food awaited me downstairs, from fresh fruit to waffles and pancakes to perfectly cooked bacon and toast on different kinds of bread.
I was in complete shock at how much he had accomplished on his own, but Levi was quick to pull out a chair for me and insist that I fuel up for the day.
Everything was amazing, and I was riding on a spoiled high by the time Nati arrived at the house and insisted she help me get ready. Not taking no for an answer, she dressed me in a forest-green flowing dress cinched at the waist to make a flattering silhouette. She fixed my hair into a half-updo and secured dainty flowers around the small messy bun. She gave me the lightest layer of makeup, with tiny silver stars she adhered around my cheeks like freckles.
By the end of it, I felt beautiful, and I couldn’t stop thanking her for the amazing work she did.
Although, I was growing increasingly curious about what Levi had planned, given all the work that was going into the day.
It wasn’t until the evening that I’d get to find out at last.
While Nati was busy with me, Levi had been out back with a few others as they fixed the backyard to his liking. By dusk, I was allowed to see it all for myself.
A strong fire had already been lit in the large fire pit, where chairs were set up around it while two bigger, more important-looking seats were placed behind it. A decorative wall with string lights woven into the wooden slats had been set up behind it all, which twinkled as the sun set and darkness began to fill the space.
A barbecue, numerous coolers full of food, and a long banquet table were stationed off to the side. Glass beverage dispensers were full of various drinks, too. It seemed Levi spared no expense.
Overall, the backyard was perfectly preened and set up, and it looked like a lot of thought had gone into it. Not to mention, most of the pack members were already there, mingling with one another.
