Page 3 of Knot so Sweet

I shake my head.

Sienna’s eyes are stuck on the dildo resting on the table as she shakes hers, too.

With a determined look, she takes the toy and the remote, and presses the button, causing the knot to grow and pulsate. “Wow. I admit, it must feel amazing when it’s inside.”

I smile. “It does. Do you know anyone else who’d like to test one?”

Sienna nods. “Well, like I said, I’m sure Grace might give it go.” Her eyes flick to the bar. “And Bardot was subdued, but she might give it a go. Do you think it would work for alphas?”

“Alphas? Are you sure they’re alphas?”

“Yes, her and Harlow are, but you know their sister Grace is a beta.”

I don’t question Sienna because I know lots of omegas hide their designation with various methods, some medication, and some use implants. “I doubt alphas will be interested in taking a knot, but that gives me an idea for female alphas.”

Sienna giggles. “Only an omega would develop sex toys for alphas.”

“Pity this omega has no money to take it much further,” I say, disappointment coating my words.

“You need an investment,” Sienna says. “You need to shop it around. I’m sure you’ll find an investor.”

“I’m finding that most investors are alphas.” I roll my eyes to the ceiling. “Do you really think an alpha company would be happy to work with an omega? Especially as I develop toys that allow omegas to eliminate the need for alphas unless it’s emotional.”

“Then how will you grow?” Sienna asks.

“Jake is trying to find me an investor, pretending he’s the inventor. But we might be lucky enough to find a beta investor, especially if betas endorse this product.” I give Sienna my best smile.

“You’re right, this could be a game-changer for all those wanton betas who are desperate to feel a knot, even just the once.” Sienna gives me a knowing smile.

“Like you?”

She smiles. “You need to show everyone the potential of this toy.” She chomps on her lower lip as she considers. “What about sending it to some popular beta influencers? Maybe they can give you some exposure and word-of-mouth advertising.”

I nod in agreement. “That’s a great idea!” Then sigh because having only moved to the area less than a year ago, and keeping a very low profile for many months. Apart from Sienna, I hardly have any friends.

I ran away from home after my mom married an alpha whose primary focus in life is to sell off omegas.

The rumor around the town we lived was that he sold his own daughters to influential and very rich packs for hundreds of thousands of dollars and never blinked an eye when they left.

After selling his own daughters, I have a sneaking suspicion he married my mom to gain access to his future payoff: three omegas, and the potential of my younger twin sisters being omegas too. Which means my mom, or her daughters, will make him a very rich man.

But he wasn’t getting away with selling me. I sneaked out of the house in the middle of the night a few months after my elder sister disappeared. I can’t prove he sold her, but I received an anonymous text that my stepfather sold my older sister Avaline to a billionaire for five million dollars.

One day I’ll find out the truth about what happened to her.

But as I couldn’t stop what he was doing—at least not yet—I had to save myself.

The day before I left, I tried taking my younger sister, Layla, with me, but she refused.

The only saving grace I had was I never lost contact with my childhood best friend, Jake and after telling him everything about my sister, he told me he’d help me escape. I never expected him to stick around afterwards, but two hundred miles and nearly a year later, Jake and I live in a small town one hour north of the City of New York.

He’s studying business at a small community college. A decision he made to help me with my plan to sell the sex toys I design. Yet, we know the only way to get this business off the ground is for a large cash injection.

I’m trying to find a beta company because the thought of handing over my ideas to an alpha scares me. I know Jake is an alpha, I trust him. Yet I am all too familiar with the relentless determination of alphas in attaining what they want.

“I’ll start by contacting a few of my influencer friends who have large social media followings. Some are omegas and some betas. If they agree, they can vouch for the quality and effectiveness of the toy, and hopefully, it’ll gain some traction,” Sienna says. It’s as if she knows my doubts and fears.

“But it’s a sex toy.” My words sound deflated, but I can hardly expect people to use it on the screen in front of their audience.
