His nose runs over my cheek and to my neck.

My face heats when my slick runs freely from me, coating my panties as I try to push away. “I can’t do this.”

“Shush baby. What’s happening to you is natural. It’s your body telling you it’s ready for me.”

A bolt of electricity fires down my spine and to my core. But I can’t do this...

He slides his hand between my spread legs, sliding his finger along my thigh before coating his finger with my slick, lifting it to his mouth and sucking as his eyes lock onto mine, a storm of longing reflecting in his gaze. “That’s it, my darling Eleanor. Keep gushing. Keep showing me who your alpha is.”

My alpha?

One hand holds the back of my neck as his other strokes my cheek. He slowly brings my face to his. And then he kisses me.

Walker kisses me.

It’s so gentle it makes me want to cry. His mouth tilts on mine as he presses his soft lips against mine.

I moan as he trails a line of soft kisses along my collarbone, and without warning, he presses a finger inside me.

I’m frozen in place. My body wants to ride his finger for all it’s worth, but my brain is screaming for him to stop.

I groan. The pressure from his finger deepens, sending a wave of lust through my entire body. My hips buck involuntarily, meeting his touch, my body yielding to him.

“That’s it, omega, let yourself go,” he breathes into my ear, his voice a low rumble that reverberates through me. “You want me just as much as I want you.”

I nod, my breath coming in shuddering gasps as he continues to explore my slickness with his finger. My mind races with thoughts of him inside me, claiming me in a way no other has before.

“I’m here for you, Eleanor,” he whispers, his voice rough with need. “I’ll never hurt you, I promise.”

With every one of my nerve endings on fire, I feel myself on the edge of surrendering to him.

“Walker,” I cry, right before I scramble off his lap and stare at him.

My godfather.

My dad’s best friend.

“What... What are we doing? You’re–”

“I’m your alpha, Eleanor. I’ve kept away from you since the day you revealed. Hating that my friend’s daughter was my omega.”

“I’m not. I can’t be,” I cry out.

He cups my face, trying to calm my racing heart. That he must know he made. “Calm down, omega. It’s okay, you’ll get used to the idea.”

I feel my body relax at his soothing tone. Then snap myself back out of wherever the omega in me wanted to go.

“I need to go.” Having a crush on my dad’s best friend, despite the age gap, was something I tried to forget about when my mom moved us away. And now I have Jake. A business, and an offer that will change our lives.

“I’m not letting you go Eleanor.” His voice is low and gravelly. “Not now that I’ve tasted what is mine.”

Chapter 10

Jake

I pull into the college parking lot and check for Prof. Baldwin’s car. I know I have to do this for Ella. After our argument yesterday, I fear my hold on her is slipping from my grasp.

And I can’t help but think our time in this city is ending. When she came home from work last night, she told me about her godfather turning up at the bar and that he kissed her.
