Not wanting to let him win, but also being freaking annoyed at how adorable he was, I sat back with my arms crossed over my chest and no panties as we continued to drive in silence. But, the silence didn’t last very long.

Next thing I knew, he was drawing out everything that I hadn’t known I wanted or needed to talk about. We discussed my family, his new family, our trip to Chicago, and even politics, which were usually a subject I shied away from because I didn't want opinions to come in the way of relationships. Still, it turned out that we were pretty dead on the same when it came to the things going on in the world.

The time blew by, three more hours ticked by like a handful of minutes, which honestly left me in awe. This man was so perfect for me, it almost made me sick.

Almost.

It mostly made me excited and nervous and eager.

And horny.

It also made me very, very horny.

We walked into that hotel just like we did last time, almost six months ago. We held hands, got our room key, and went up.

“Ok, orgasm time,” I told him, falling onto the lux California king sized bed.

“We have dinner reservations, then a walk down the beach, then orgasms,” he told me, holding out his hand.

“Damn you!” I bemoaned, sitting up, but only partially so I could see him.

“Can you put your libido on ice for just a couple more hours so I can give you a fucking romantic evening?” he asked, humor lacing his words.

“You promised orgasms when we got here!”

“I didn’t say exactly when we got here. I don’t plan on being able to count how many times you come over this weekend because there will be too many, but I need you to let me do this, ok? I know you’re a strong independent woman, and you don’t need no man, but I want to do this for you, ok? I want to make this night one you won’t ever forget.”

He was right. In fact, I didn't need a man. Well, not financially or anything. Not in this day and age. But I did want him. I wanted him so bad, heart, mind and soul. I was a strong enough woman that I could hold back and I could sacrifice so that not just me, but both of us could feel fulfilled.

“Ok,” I gave in easily, and he rewarded me with a lingering kiss. “Am I dressing up?”

“I brought a button up shirt,” he whispered conspiratorially.

So, dressing up it was, but only so much, because we were still on the beach.

Going to my bag, I dug through until I found the nicest thing I brought with me, a sheer tie-around dress with what was essentially a slip underneath, just a shade or two darker than my actual skin tone. It doesn’t sound as good as it looked, because damn, it made me look like a bombshell, if I could say so myself.

Dropping my hair from my top knot, now dry, it left a nice big wave in the strands. I felt fucking beautiful, and I couldn’t wait to see what he thought.

Holding my breath, I left the bathroom where Ash was leaning against the patio door, watching the ocean in a sharp, white collared shirt.

I cleared my throat to get his attention which totally worked.

The way his eyes widened and his lips parted made butterflies burst to life in my stomach.

“Ho-ly fuck,” he murmured, taking a few steps closer as his eyes roved up and down my body. “You look…incredible, Frey.”

I felt a blush heat my cheeks as he got close, pressing his fingers into the hair at the base of my neck. The kiss he pressed to my lips stole my breath away.

“I’m ready,” I managed breathlessly when our lips parted.

I wondered briefly if he might change his mind and stay in, but the man stubbornly took a step back and grasped my hand, pulling me toward the door.

I laughed as he dragged his hand through his hair, looking a little frazzled at the edges.

“You sure you want to go out?” I asked him, drawing my hand up his chest as we settled into the elevator.

“Very, definitely,” he agreed, but not very convincingly. “Romantic evening, remember?”
