After the tour concludes, I turn to each of the men, thanking them individually with heartfelt kisses. Vaughn, Lars, Kit, and Maddox, each of them has played a significant role in my life, and now, as I express my appreciation, I feel an even deeper connection with them. It’s a bond forged through shared hardships, triumphs, and the unyielding support of a pack that’s become more than just a community—it’s become my family.

“It’s not too far from the college,” Maddox declares as he takes a seat on the couch. “So me and Lars won’t have too much trouble getting there.”

“Yeah, it’s quite close to my business as well,” Kit declares with a grin. “So, it’s perfect for me. What about you, Vaughn? You like the location as well, right?”

I grin from ear to ear because it’s going to be perfect for me. With that giant art studio in the middle of the house, I’m going to love it.

“Oh, for sure,” Vaughn agrees with a smile. “I love it. This is close to my work and to where my pack roams as well, so I can still see them if I need to. This house couldn’t be better. It feels like the perfect base to start the rest of our lives together.”

I really didn’t think that this would ever happen for someone like me. I’m unlucky in love, I made nothing but bad decisions. I don’t know how I ended up here in heaven. Taking just that one year out of my life to explore something different has changed everything completely. My whole life has been spun on its head and I don’t quite know what’s going to happen next, but I can’t wait to find out. It’s going to be an adventure, that’s for sure…

As I go about my daily life in our grand mansion, every glance upward leads to a familiar and cherished sight. On the wall, there hangs the portrait I created, capturing the essence of the men who were once just working together in the forbidden forest before they became an inseparable part of my life. The painting is a reminder of the remarkable journey we undertook, the challenges we faced, and the love that blossomed amidst the chaos.

The vivid strokes of color capture their individual personalities—Maddox’s thoughtful expression, Lars’s strength and resilience, Kit’s charm and humor—all framed in a beautiful blend of memories. It serves as a symbol of how far we’ve come, from the perilous days of Rift monsters to the tranquil moments of shared laughter and dreams.

I love remembering where we came from and what’s happened since. It’s wild and a reminder of how far we still have to go.

But today as I look at the portrait, I notice something strange underneath. A note. Confused, I grip the paper and read what it says. Meet us in the garden…

Hmm, okay, this is fun! The guys are always planning sweet little romantic surprises for me. Sometimes individually, sometimes as a group. I never quite know what to expect so I eagerly run outside to try and find where they are.

“Kit!” I cry out as I run through the grass. “Maddox? Vaughn? Lars?”

What the hell? I can’t see anyone…

Wait! Until my eyes spot something in the distance, just under the trees.

The day bathes in the golden hues of the setting sun, casting a warm, ethereal glow over the mansion’s sprawling backyard. It is a day I never expected, yet one that fills my heart with joy and wonder. The sight before me takes my breath away.

In the midst of the vibrant garden, the men stand, each one dressed in attire that blends modern elegance with the timeless charm of their wolf traditions. Maddox, Lars, Kit, and Vaughn all look dashing in their tailored suits, their eyes filled with a love that seems to transcend time and space. Their smiles are radiant, and their presence is reassuring, a promise of a future filled with happiness.

“What are we doing here?” I ask as I edge closer to them. “What’s going on?”

Maddox grins. “We’re getting married, Mahalia. We thought it was about time.”

As I step closer to the men, my heart pounds with anticipation and a sense of awe. Surrounding them, like ancient guardians of tradition, are the pack elders, draped in robes that seem to have absorbed the wisdom of countless generations. The atmosphere is heavy with a sense of solemnity, and I realize that what awaits us is a ceremony unlike any I have ever experienced before.

The elders’ eyes, filled with ageless wisdom, meet mine briefly, as if seeking my understanding and consent. I offer a nod, acknowledging the significance of this moment. I may not fully comprehend the intricacies of their traditions, but I trust in the love and unity that bind us together.

“Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends,” the first elder announces, followed by the second, talking in an ancient language I don’t understand. But the sentiment is very much there, making me grin. “Ko ’ol elo’obo’ ka m áak o’obo’, lá ak’o’ob yée tel etail.”

“As we gather here today to celebrate this extraordinary union, I am humbled to share with you a moment of profound significance. The ceremony that unfolds before us is not bound by the conventions of the ordinary, but rather, it is a testament to the enduring power of love and tradition.”

“Ti’ le re unir k bej lá’e’ w aye’ utia’al u cele brar le unión extr aord inaria, kin kutal honrad o ti’ ts’aiko’on yéetel Te’exe’ jump’éel súu tuko’ taam sign ificado. “In the presence of the moon and stars, under the open sky that has witnessed the untold stories of our kind, Mahalia Jones, Maddox Thompson, Kit Harrison, Lars Vessey, and Vaughn Davies, come together to declare their love and commitment in the sacred bond of the pack.”

“Eb ukho neni ben ya nga ne zink anyezi, ngap h ansi kwe sibhaka bhaka esi vulekile esi bone izin daba ezing atheni zohlo bo lwethu, Jones Mahalia, Thompson Maddox, Harrison Kit, Vessey Lars, no Davies Vaugh, bahla ngana ukuze bamem ezele ut h ando no kuzin I kela kw a bo esibo phw eni esin gcw ele seph akethe.”

“The love that has grown since these beings fought against the monsters of the Rift is something that has bloomed into a happy ever after.”

“Uth an do ol ukh ule kusu kela lezi zi lwane za lwa ne zilo Rift yinto eye y aqha kaza yaba yinto ejab ulisayo njalo ngemu va k wal okho.”

I soak in every word as much as I can, enjoying the traditions, even if I don’t understand all that’s happening around us. I do like the moment we exchange rings. It makes me feel more connected to my men than ever before. Vaughn, who I was going to marry once upon a time. Lars, who I thought I would never get along with. Maddox, the professor I hated, and Kit too, my high school bully. The strangest collection of people that I have ever seen in my life. But my people.

As the final exchange of wedding rings marks the culmination of our unique ceremony, a sense of awe and happiness envelops me. The bonds we share have just grown stronger, and the promise of our future together fills my heart with joy.

After the rings have found their place on our fingers, a ripple of excitement courses through the gathered pack members. The anticipation in the air is palpable, and it’s clear that something extraordinary is about to unfold. The rings come with kisses, making my heart swell and grow with love.
