“What are you doing in my room, Benjamin?”

“Well, sir, your father has a meeting in London tomorrow morning, and if you get to the airline in the next hour or two, you can arrive there in time to help him prep for the next day.” Killian sighed as he sat up, letting me go, and he got off of the bed and went into the bathroom. He closed the door, and I looked over to Benjamin and whispered.

“He was up the whole time?” I asked in a slight panic, and Benjamin nodded.

“Most likely. He’s very attentive in his sleep the moment you moved excessively; he was most likely conscious.” I placed my hands on my face and groaned as Benjamin furrowed his eyebrows.“What’s the matter?”

“I saidit,” I whispered, and Benjamin had to think about it for a moment before his eyes went wide, and he approached me.

“You didn’t,” He whispered, and I shook my head.

“I did!” I whispered back, and the look on his face was pure shock, excitement, and a little worry. He was getting ready to speak when Killian opened the door and looked at me.

“Darling, are you getting ready soon?” I nodded and slid off the bed. Giving Benjamin one last glance, I walked into my closet and shut the door to hide myself from even more embarrassment.

Omniscient

Calvin was sitting in his leather chair in the living room, enjoying the warmth of the fire as it emitted most of the light in the room. He twirled the glass of whiskey in his hand, tilting his head back and forth while a Beethoven symphony played in the background. He heard footsteps enter the room, and they spoke. “Mr. Lockwood,” His butler addressed, and Calvin glanced at him.

“Yes?” Calvin responded, and the man spoke again.

“Marissa Newman has requested a visit once again,” Calvin sighed as he downed the rest of his whiskey and placed it on the stand by the lamp.

“Is she here?” He questioned, irritated already. Pierce didn’t say anything, knowing he might get more upset. Calvin sighed and placed his fingers on his forehead while leaning back in the chair.

“Send her in,” He said slowly, and the man walked away. After a good five minutes, Calvin heard the clicks of her heels entering the room, and they stopped once she was in the doorway. He didn’t move to look at her, and she cleared her throat.

“Calvin,” She snapped.

“Marissa..” He looked over to her. “To what do I owe this unpleasant visit?”

“I am getting sick and tired of your dirty games.” She said, crossing her arms, and he looked at her questioningly.

“What have I done?” He muttered, knowing well that he’d done numerous things.

“I want to be off of this damn leash. You’re not helping me with my daughter at all. I’m tired of being in this damn game of yours.” She barked, and Calvin shrugged.

“You know what you got yourself into. I have no regard for your feelings or your requests. I would think the money you’re getting would be enough to shut you up, but I guess I was wrong.”

“Killian’s going to London tomorrow for his father’s business. What are you going to do?” Marissa asked, and she interrupted before Calvin got a chance to talk. “What’s this whole thing leading to? What does my daughter have to do with you and Killian?” She continued her questioning, and Calvin listened to the tiny footsteps coming down the stairs while he ignored Marissa.

His son rounded the corner with his eyes sleepy and his face emotionless. He walked over to Calvin and climbed onto his lap. Resting his head on his father’s shoulder, Calvin stroked his back while looking down at his son.

“My plans will surface soon enough… it’s all in good time.. Now, I’ve had enough of this conversation as my son is now present, and I’d like to be alone with him.” Marissa opened her mouth to speak again, but Calvin raised his hand, effectively shutting her up. She glared at the two before stepping out of the room angrily.

Upon reaching the exit doors, they opened, and she left his mansion while pulling out her phone. Before she started dialing the number, the exact person she had been meaning to call appeared on the screen. She answered the phone as she walked by the fountain.

“Hello, father..”

“Marissa, sweetheart… Did you talk to him?” Her father inquired, getting directly to the point.

“He’s ignoring everything I say. I keep trying to persuade him to tell me his plans, but he hasn’t said anything. If anything, I think he’s noticed my persistence.”

“You might need to tone it down if he’s starting to notice. We can’t let him close the account he has open for you.” He continued, and Marissa’s breath hitched when he spoke once again.“How is the progress with Brielle and Delilah?”

“I tried going to the court, but they denied me access… As for Brielle? Killian is making sure nothing happens to her, which has been working very effectively, and it’s pissing me off.”

“I’m working on the evidence of the case already, and as for Brielle… Eugene is making his appearance, which makes it nearly impossible to get to her. He hasn’t returned any calls, and he’s sent back almost all of the money for his silence…”Her father snarled, and Marissa spoke.
