“Yes, sir.” She replied, and my jaw clenched at how she continuously addressed me..sir.

“I left a few things on your desk that pertain to the meetings. I’ll give you some time to get settled for the day.” She nodded, turned towards her door, and walked into her office. I kept my eyes trained on her through the glass before shaking my head and returning to reading. After about five minutes, she left her office with her belongings and stood by my desk. Standing up, I smirked internally as I decided to tease her a little bit.

“Your outfit looks rather alluring today, Ms. Newman.” She blushed and looked down.

“My other boss bought a few things for me, and she told me to wear them. I’m sorry..” Stepping closer, I groaned internally as her scent was overwhelmingly desirable. As I leaned into her ear, I could hear her heartbeat a bit faster as the blush reached her ears.

“Trust me, Brielle... You have nothing to be sorry about.” I muttered, and she cleared her throat after a moment, causing me to pull away as I sighed internally reluctantly. What the hell has gotten into me?

“Shall we, Ms. Newman?” She didn’t say anything and just nodded as if she was at a loss for words. Going into the conference room, I showed her to a seat by mine and explained a few expectations I had of her.

“You are to bring all the clients water and coffee if anyone requests. All equipment, such as the projector or computer, will need to be set up for every meeting. Each seat needs a pen and a fresh notepad. If you need help, I’m assuming you still have the earpiece from yesterday, so just call Anna in. I already arranged everything, so for now, you don’t have to worry.” She nodded and set her things in front of her seat, and the intercom buzzed as Anna spoke.

“Sir, the executives of Sonata Industries are here for their 9 o’clock appointment.”

I pressed the button. “Send them in.”

After a minute or so, the door opened, and the men came piling in. They all noticed Brielle, and I could see a few of them do a double-take as the only other woman who’d be present by me occasionally was Anna. Once they were all settled, I cleared my throat.

“Alright, gentlemen, I’d like us to get started as quickly as possible. And if you haven’t already noticed, I have a new personal assistant, Brielle Newman.” She lifted her head from her iPad and blushed slightly, seeing everyone focused on her. She waved shyly, and I could hear a few chuckles around the room, and a few of them smirked. Clearing my throat again, I continued.

“Brief me on the concerns of this month..” As I spoke, Brielle got up and left the room.

“We’re working on doubling last month’s profit obviously however, we’re still looking to hear back from a few accounts.” One of my executives remarked, and I nodded. After a minute, Brielle returned with a pitcher of iced water and poured a glass for each person.

As she did, I couldn’t help but notice everyone’s eyes were drawn to her. I subconsciously tapped my fingers on the desk as someone else spoke, and a discussion sprung between two people. Yet, my focus was on the many men who had their eyes on Brielle.

“Brielle, sweetheart?” I muttered, cursing myself internally that I’d let ‘sweetheart’ slip. She lifted her head, and everyone looked away from her.

“Yes, sir.” She said innocently, and I breathed in slightly before speaking.

“Can you get me a coffee from the break room? Thank you, darling.” She nodded and set the water in the middle of the table before walking to the door. When she exited and shut the door, my head snapped to the men who looked frightened suddenly.

“Gentlemen.. Listen closely. Eyes… up here,” I said, gesturing towards my eyes, and they all nodded quickly. Brielle walked into the room and sat my coffee in front of me. I nodded my head at her, thankful, and she took a seat.

“Well, let’s begin, shall we?”

“And what the hell do you think that will accomplish?!” I yelled as I stood up and directed my anger toward the man.

“W-well sir, i-it was just a s-suggesti-” I cut him off.

“Fuck you and your suggestion! I need answers.” He was about to speak when I pointed to the door.

“Get out. You can wait for your fellow colleagues in the waiting room.” He got up quickly and ran out of the room. All day, I’ve been here listening to these imbeciles speak, and it’s getting repetitive and redundant. We’ve been through a few meetings, and Brielle had to get me coffee twice for each one.

While I’m here screaming my ass off, she is sitting beside me, quiet as a mouse, acting as if she moved one muscle; then I’d yell at her too. She was easily frightened, I could see, and whenever I needed to speak with her, I made sure to lower my voice and attitude.

“Any more bright fucking ideas, people?” I sat back down in frustration. Nobody said a word. I was about to speak when a dainty little hand appeared in my peripheral vision.

“C-can I say something?” Her soft voice rang in the room, and everyone, including myself, turned their attention toward her. She put her hand down and brushed her hair out of her face.

“I-It looks like all they have is a little department and placing issue.” I gave her my full, undivided attention.

“Explain,” I ordered, and she opened her iPad, which automatically connected to the projector.

She pulled up the company productivity overview. “It’s… simple and a bit obvious, really. Over the last two months, the productivity rate hasn’t been regular. If anything, it slowed. The reason is that a few... individuals have been promoted to higher positions and are disregarding the bandwidth needed in those overlooked positions.” She began, and both of our eyes immediately glanced over to the idiots I recently promoted.

“I would suggest a bit more training for the staff rather than the somewhat frequentgloating.. J-just a recommendation,” She said suggestively, folding her hands in her lap as she finished. Again, it was silent, and I continued to glare specifically at the idiots who were just promoted and seemed embarrassed.
