“No, you don’t get that privilege. You said you’d leave me alone for two weeks. It hasn’t even been one, and you’re already up my ass?”

Calvin shrugged. “I guess I just couldn’t stay away…” He looked over to Brielle and winked. “Hello, beautiful.”

Killian rounded his desk and seethed. “Get your eyes off of her.”

His office door opened again, and Blaine stepped in but made a face as he tried to step out.

“Blaine, don’t make me come after you,” Killian said in his no-bullshit tone, and Blaine walked back in whining.

“Brielle, coffee. Now.” Killian ordered, and she hurried out of the office as she went to the break room.

“She has quite the little body on her, doesn’t she?” Killian made a move to strangle Calvin, but Blaine stepped in the way and pushed him back just in time as Calvin continued. “If I didn’t know any better, Killian, I’d think you’re catching feelings for your little PA… Oh wait, I don’t know any better.”

“Calvin, if you consider your life precious, I’d hurry to tell him why you’re here,” Blaine urged, holding onto Killian’s arm.

“Fine. Fine. I understand you are planning for your departure to Europe soon… But if I were you, I’d start planning a little earlier.” Calving suggested as Killian hesitated before asking, “And why would I need to do that?”

“Because, oh, I don’t know… A certain someone could possibly go over to your UK headquarters and catch a quick glance at your plans and such… I will still have clearance into your buildings after today, correct?”

“You currently do not have clearance into any building, so no. I have better things to do than worry about you… Now get the hell out of my office before I have my security to escort you out.” Killian seethed, and Calvin smiled as he held up his hands.

“No need, we’ll show ourselves out.” He spoke as they walked out of the door. Brielle walked in soon after and set the coffee on Killian’s desk as he went over to his seat and turned on his computer. Blaine also took a seat, and Brielle took that as a cue to leave. Walking back to her office, she could only hope that Killian wasn’t angry when they returned to the penthouse, and if he were, then he would at least show her a bit of mercy.

Brielle finished getting dressed for bed and helped Delilah as well. Giving her a kiss goodnight, she walked back to her room. Turning everything off, she walked over to her bed and successfully fell asleep.

Awaking in the midst of her rest, she glanced at the time and saw that it was 4:00 AM. A knocking sound, which she assumed woke her, sounded from the door again. She stood up and wobbled over to the door. As she opened it, she looked up at Killian, who was dressed in his suit and had a cold, stern expression on his face as he spoke.

“Get dressed and pack your bags. We’re going to London.”

Chapter sixteen

Brielle

Killian strode down the hallway, snapping me out of my daze. I quickly caught up to him and spoke. “I-I’m sorry. Can you repeat that for me?” I knew he was incredibly spontaneous, but this was just ridiculous.

“Brielle, George will be here in less than fifteen minutes. I’m trying to give you enough time to get you and Delilah prepared for our departure-”

“Delilah’s coming too?” I asked in shock, and he paid me no mind as he descended the steps.

“We talked about this already, darling. Now, I’d hurry if I were you.” I let out a groan as I rushed into my room and grabbed a suitcase from the closet. I quickly added a few outfits and pairs of shoes, knowing that Killian would likely have some clothes ready for us. I then fixed my purse and other essentials before I put on some suede knee-high boots with heels, jeans, a long-sleeved burgundy shirt, and my cream coat. After putting my hair into a high ponytail, I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and do my business before leaving.

Putting my things in the hallway, I walked to Delilah’s room and turned the light on. She was still fast asleep as I went into her closet and grabbed a few things for her before entering the hallway and putting them in my suitcase. I returned to her room and grabbed a pair of boots with jeans, a shirt, and her coat. Going over to her bedside, I slowly pulled the duvet off her and picked her up. I placed her on my lap before attempting to dress her. She slightly stirred and looked up at me.

“…Bribri?” She whispered, and I responded.

“Yes, baby?” I asked, trying to pull off her pajama bottoms.

“…What’s going on?”

I shimmied her into her jeans before replying. “Well.. Killy just told me we’re going on a trip, and we have to get ready now.” She laid back on my shoulder as I tried to pull her boots onto her little tiny feet.

“…Will it be fun?”

“Maybe.. although Killy and I may be a little busy..” I said as I knew we would be going only for business. She nodded her head.

“OK…” I pulled on her coat and stood up, placing her on my hip as she laid her head on my shoulder, going back to sleep. As I left her room, I saw Benjamin walking out of Killian’s room holding a suitcase, and he grabbed my things as well. I momentarily made eye contact with him, and he merely sighed as he walked down the stairs. I followed behind him, listening as Killian practically growled into the phone.

“I need the jet ready by the time I get there. Do you hear me? I don’t have time for the fucking games today. I have five meetings scheduled this afternoon, and I just found out that I had to be in the damn country not even four hours ago.” We walked over to him, and he rolled his eyes as the person stuttered on the other line.
