“I’ve just been overwhelmed..”

“By?” I questioned, and she sighed. “I’ve been getting a bit busier with preparations for Delilah’s party and trying to balance my time at the dance studio, not to mention that a certain someone constantly stresses me out.”

“I stress you out?” I questioned as I caressed her waist gently, and she nodded as she replied. “Having someone who does whatever they want, when they want, as your boss and‘roommate’can be very stressful at times.”

“So I’m just aroommateto you?” I muttered, and she gripped my suit jacket in frustration and closed her eyes. “How do you manage to only listen to the part where I called you aroommate?” Leaning down, I whispered into her ear.

“Because I think I am much more than aroommateto you.. You and I both know that much,” I muttered, trailing my hand down her back, and a slight blush coated her face as she loosened the grip on my suit jacket.

“You’ve got to work on your confidence, darling, or else it’s going to be too easy for me to get you all flustered.” I continued, placing a small kiss on her neck, and she squirmed.

“W-well, you’re not making this easy.”

“I never make anything easy, sweetheart.” Leaning down to her height, I placed a kiss on her lips before she gripped my suit jacket once again and moaned softly. Wrapping her hair around her hair in a fist, I pulled her head back abruptly as I broke the kiss. I softly kissed her collarbone as she wrapped her arms around my neck. Hearing the phone ring, she paused momentarily, and I groaned internally.

“Ignore it,” I muttered, loosening my grip on her hair. It stopped ringing for a few seconds, but the annoying sound returned. I ripped myself away from her and grabbed the phone in irritation.

“What.” I seethed, and I heard Anna stutter.

“S-sir, you have an important call-”She began, and I cut her off.

“Put them on hold. No calls right now.” I was about to put the phone down on the receiver when she spoke.

“But sir.. It’s really important.”My eyebrows furrowed as I placed my hand on the edge of the desk.

“How important?” She took a deep breath before speaking.

“It’s Calvin.”My mood suddenly changed, and I walked to my desk chair to grab my other phone and call Blaine.

“Put him through.” I looked up for a split second and noticed Brielle walk out of the office and head for the break room. Blaine picked up, and before he opened up his big fat mouth, I told him to put himself on mute.

“Hello, old friend.”I heard Calvin’s voice in my other ear. Connecting both of the calls, I responded. “Calvin.. I see you haven’t been able to leave me alone for a full two weeks.”

“You know it’s hard for me to stay away.” He replied, and I shook my head.

“I only wish the feeling was mutual.. now, what do you want?”

“If you must know, Killian, there are a few secrets of yours that I’ve been holding onto, secrets that the public might find quite intriguing. And I have a feeling you wouldn’t be too thrilled about them.”

“Fuck you and your secrets. You don’t have a thing on me.”

He chuckled. “Oh, no, no, no, my old friend, that is where you are wrong… Even though you have eyes everywhere, I have eyes that can watch the eyes you have.”

“Calvin.. We’ve been through this a million times. There’s nothing you have on me that I haven’t already addressed or released to the public.”

“Oh.. well then, I guess your PR team isn’t as efficient as you thought..”I sat up straighter and furrowed my eyebrows as I spoke. “What are you talking about?”

“Well, you’re trying to keep Ms. Newman out of the public eye, aren’t you? It’s no wonder you’ve been everywhere with her, and no one has managed to share your rather interesting relationship with the public. For whatever reason, I know you don’t want anything leaking to the press.”

“You’re all shit talk. You haven’t given me one piece of evidence of your so-called secret. Even if you told them what you’ve heard or seen, it won’t do much as it’s just a rumor.” I snapped quickly, dismissing him, and he chuckled once again.

“Have you checked your email recently? I know you put me in your spam inbox, but that doesn’t bother me much.”I opened my email on my computer, clicked the spam button, and opened his email. My face stayed emotionless as I stared at the computer screen. It was pictures of Brielle pushed up against the car as I held her and scolded her for leaving the building and disrespecting me.

“Where did you get these?”

“Now, I don’t think that’s the question to ask. The right question to ask is why I have them or if I want anything for them.”

“What do you want.”
