I’m still pissed my sled got you off before I did

I grin, warmth spreading through me. Is he really jealous over his motorcycle?

Me

Don’t worry. You can make up for it tonight

My heart flutters at what we might get up to in this big-ass apartment when we’re all alone again. I’ve never craved anything more.

Rock

I plan to

Holy shit. I hug myself as I try not to let the shit-eating grin spread across my face. But it’s a little hard not to.

And today I get to have my hair done. I’m ready for a change.

After being booted from the show, I lost my mojo. I didn’t leave the house for weeks, so there was no point in trying to look good for anyone.

That was my excuse, anyway. Now I look at my dark roots and groan. It’s time.

After I pull my robe on and use the bathroom, I wander out and smell the most delicious scent of something cooking.

Of course Manny has taken it upon himself to cook up a storm in my kitchen. Though Lord knows how he’s rustled together the ingredients to make pancakes.

“That smells amazing,” I say, stifling a yawn.

“Well, good mornin’, Laguna Beach.”

I smile at his words. It seems the men of this club love giving me cute nicknames, even though the way Rock says Trouble sets my insides on fire.

“Morning.” I smile back.

“Sleep well?” He gives me a devilish grin, and my heart skips a beat thinking he knows something’s up. But how could he? There was no evidence left behind, and I didn’t tell him and Stella about me and Rock.

I walk to the coffee percolator and pour myself a cup.

Stella is outside on the patio, talking on her phone.

“I did.”

“Well, today is makeover day. The only poo-poo is that Priest is coming over.”

My eyes go wide.

Manny laughs. “Don’t look so worried. Rock’s needed at the club, and Priest was available. They’re taking this security thing to new heights, honey. Just go with it.”

“Noted,” I say, dumping sugar in my coffee and adding creamer.

It feels weird without Rock in the apartment. Even though that’s silly, as it hasn’t even been a week.

But we’ve gotten into this little coffee and breakfast ordering ritual.

“So, are you excited about your new hair?”

I nod, sitting down at the island. “I honestly can’t wait. It’s long overdue.”

“What color are you thinking you’ll go with?”
