“They’re all pink,” Oliver said, staring at what she’d taken out.

“There are other colors.” Seth scrolled through his phone. “So who’s eating?”

“Zane,” Clary shouted over as he opened the door. “Could you check with Elton to see if he wants to join us for dinner?”

“Surely you know that will be a no,” Zane said. “But if you want me to force him to have dinner with us, that’s another matter.”

Clary nodded. “Force him.”

Zane laughed once. “Sure.” He let the door swing closed.

“Where’s the remaining brother I haven’t seen?” Clary texted Andrea and asked her to join them for dinner. “Should we wait for him too?”

“I’m not sure if Aldric will be back for Christmas,” Seth said. “He never is.”

“So where does he spend Christmas?”

Oliver laughed. “You don’t want to know.”

“Okay,” she said, dragging out the second syllable. “Jesus.” She took out yet another box of decorations. “Seth, how much did you buy? Are all these boxes decorations?”

“They have different sets with different colors and designs. I didn’t know which you’d prefer.”

“We can have another tree in Zane’s room,” Oliver said and leaned over, his eyes wide with excitement and mischief. “We’ll have to set it up while he isn’t home.”

Clary chuckled.

Even if Seth hadn’t told her, she would have guessed Oliver was the youngest. His large eyes and slightly chubby cheeks made him appear youthful. And perhaps it was that bright, fresh look of his that made her want to indulge him. “I’m in if you are.”

“Aren’t you afraid he’ll shoot you?” Seth asked from the couch.

“I thought that was your problem.” She glanced back at him. “I’m letting you protect me, remember?”

His lips curled. He threw his phone aside and joined her and Oliver on the floor. “Let her open that,” he said when Oliver reached for another parcel.

She pushed the one she was opening over to Oliver, and he handed her the one in his hand. This rectangular box was a lot flatter than the others. Could it be? She narrowed her eyes. “No way.”

Seth grabbed his key off the floor and slit through the tape.

Clary opened the flaps and pushed aside the protective paper. “Seth.” She laughed, tipping her head back. “I can’t believe you actually got it.”

“What?” Oliver leaned over again, then straightened. “Is it something I can see?”

“Definitely.” She took out the framed poster with the words ‘Jesus loves you.’ “I’m hanging it up in the living room,” she announced.

Oliver looked over at Seth.

“Or not,” she said. “I can put it in my room.”

Seth ran a hand down her back. “You can put it wherever you want.”

Oliver nodded. “I don’t mind.”

“You guys are so sweet. You’re going to spoil me.” She jumped to her feet. Taking the frame in her hands, she held it up to see where the black and gold frame and poster would fit. “The colors go so well with the wall.” She dropped her hands. “Where are we putting the tree?”

Seth shrugged.

“Here,” Oliver said.
