“She thinks she has friends, but most of them only play nice with her because she’ll cut someone if she thinks we’re stabbing her in the back,” Lynnette explained.

“Except you, Lynnette,” Darlene whispered.

I patted the shy Darlene on the head, even though I had to reach up a little.

Lynnette snorted. “I know I have a knife coming my way any day, but I’ve just been lucky that I’m not going after any of the men she wants to try and become an old lady to.”

“An old lady?” I asked. The others started to relax and grab a drink for themselves from the tray I set down.

“That’s when the men in the club claim their wife, or partner, in your case.”

My nose screwed up. “I’m an old lady?” I didn’t like that title.

Some of the women laughed, but it was Lynnette who said, “Honey, you can be called whatever you want.”

“I’m Corbin’s man. His man.” I nodded. “Wait, I should call him Razor around people, right?”

“Damn, Riker, you really are his man. Good for you claiming the most wanted guy in the club, and you call him whatever you want. We’ll still respect him by using his club name.”

“Thank you.” I grinned. “And since he’s mine, I’m a part of the club now. So, I think that if any of you have a problem with say, Harper, you come to me, and I will gladly deal with her or anyone else who’ll try to fuck you over.”

She patted my arm. “Aren’t you the sweetest.”

“I can be,” I said with a smile and then I lost it when I added, “But then I’m also not if anyone messes with me or mine.” With my smile back in place, since I liked these women so far, I took Darlene’s hand and moved us over to a free couch, pulling her down with me. I patted the other free spot next to me for Lynnette to sit. “Come, come. Tell me what I need to know so I’m the best man for my man.”

She grinned. “You’re going to be good for this club, Riker. I believe it.”

I wanted to be good. But I also liked to be mean. They would only see that side if or when someone screwed with Corbin.

CHAPTER SEVEN

CORBIN

I couldn’t stop looking at Riker. He confidently walked up to the group of women, said something that had a few losing color, but they seemed to calm once he and Lynnette started talking. Immediately after, he was sitting and laughing with them. Like he’d known them a lot longer than a few minutes.

“You really are smitten with him,” Spade commented.

I grunted. Riker threw his head back and cackled as he patted Lynnette on the head, like he had Darlene just before.

He was gorgeous.

“You think you can tear your eyes away from him for a moment while we go to your office and talk?”

Christ. I didn’t want to, but I had to.

“Let me tell him, and I’ll meet you there.”

Spade chuckled and slapped me on the back. “This shit is good to see, brother.”

Smiling, I handed him the keys and tipped my chin up at him before I made my way over to the group. They quieted when I got close.

“Riker, gonna hit the office for a bit. You good here or wanna come back?”

The women looked from me to him. He beamed. “You go do your business, boss man, and come back to me when you can.”

I raised a brow.

“Promise I’ll be good.”
