“But look at the back.” Lucas beamed as he turned around, wiggling his ass—which was thankfully covered in white boxer briefs. But it was the fucking phrase on his ass that had me losing it. Knead my buns. Fuck, this kid was begging for Mom to kill him.

“Kid, Mom’s going to kill you and make us bury you in the woods.” Declan chuckled. “Jesus fucking Christ.”

“Fucking worth it for the looks on your faces,” he said, making me laugh. This shit? This shit I needed. It helped calm the wild unease raging inside me as I navigated everything.

Chapter 99

Genevieve

You two are fucking jail bait,” Cade commented from his spot on the couch, never once looking up from his phone.

“Neither one of us is that young, honey.” Raven laughed. Amen to that.

“No, but you two are that fucking hot with slightly unhinged husbands,” he said. I bit my lip to hold back a giggle. Okay, that part was true. Knowing that Declan started a bar fight in Raven’s honor meant I wouldn’t put anything past him. And Killian? Well, Killian was just protective. Or possessive. Maybe both. “Killian’s a lot more than slightly unhinged, but it still works.”

Raven winked at me. While the boys were playing dress up as each other, we were going as the sexier versions of our husbands. Which for her meant a little bit of flannel and for me meant a little bit of leather. Short skirts and form-fitting dresses, heeled boots and the works.

I felt… odd. I was voluntarily in a skirt. I never did that unless trying to appease my father. But the leather dress and the lingerie I wore underneath it made me feel sexy. Gabby had insisted on it. I’d never worn anything like this before, which meant Killian had never seen me in anything like this before.

And the tiny voice in the back of my head wondered if he’d like it.

“You two are going to freeze your sexy asses off, you know that right?” Cade continued with his commentary.

“It won’t be that bad,” I told him. The weather forecast didn’t look warm, but I’d been through worse.

“I’m from Chicago,” Raven reminded him. “I’ve survived Midwest winters.”

“And how many times did you walk around looking like a lumber-snack hooker?” he asked, smiling wide at her as she feigned upset. I just laughed as I made another cup of coffee.

“Cade, check your tattoo,” Declan said as an announcement of his arrival.

“Hey! I did a damn good job with that tattoo!” Raven shouted from the kitchen, frowning. “It looks amazing!”

“Honey, you used the real magic tattoo shit, not normal body paint,” he replied. Her eyes widened, and I covered my mouth.

“You did not!” Cade shot off the couch. He rubbed at the fake tattoo on his arm—the full sleeve she’d inked on him so he could pretend to be Roan. Being Raven didn’t have a clue what Roan’s tattoos looked like, she made them up. “Tell me you didn’t give me a fucking tattoo, Raven!”

“She gave Sam a full fucking sleeve to match Killian,” Declan told him.

“No!” She slapped a hand over her mouth. Scurrying out of the kitchen, she exclaimed, “Tell me I didn’t.”

“Why?” Declan groaned, and I giggled. About what I expected. She wore a little tie flannel dress that rode high on her thighs paired with boots. “What are you wearing?”

“I’m a sexy lumberjack!” Raven said happily. I caught the tail end of her little twirl.

“There are so many safety violations,” he replied, gesturing to her outfit. She couldn’t bend over without flashing the world because of rule number one.

“To your dick,” Killian retorted.

“Exactly,” Declan agreed under his breath, making Killian laugh. That laugh rolled down my spine even from across the house.

“Enough about your fucking dick!” Cade cut in angrily. “How the fuck do I get this off?”

“I don’t think you can. It’s magical ink,” I said. Cradling my coffee close to my chest, I joined the chaos in the living room. Killian stood next to Declan, watching Cade’s panic unfold. To say I was a fan of my husband’s Halloween costume was an understatement. Role play may not have been my thing but if he dressed like a sexy firefighter more often, I’d consider it.

He caught me staring and started to grin, but his expression tightened. His dark gaze crept down the length of my body, taking me in inch by inch. My skin flamed to life under his scrutiny, and I resisted the urge to squeeze my thighs together as I felt myself grow damp. What a day to wear crotchless lingerie.

“Raven fucking Woods,” Cade growled.
