“At least it looks good!” Raven said, her voice rising a notch.

“I don’t want a full-sleeve tattoo!”

“Okay, okay,” Killian interrupted. “Get the fuck out of my house. Go call Bea. See if she can do anything for you. Let me get ready for today. Are you coming with, Cade?”

“What?” Cade frowned.

“It’s a double date.” He gestured between the three of them. “You know, the three of you and the two of us, but I only heard about them.”

“I wasn’t planning on it,” he replied. “It’s cute you want to fucking date me.”

“Oh, fuck off,” Killian retorted. “Get out of my house. Get off of my fucking lawn. Any time we do this shit, you’re welcome. Now, go away.”

“We’ll be on the road soon,” I called after them as Killian ushered them to the front door. “I’ll text you.”

“Wear something warmer, Ginny,” Declan said. “You don’t want to get cold.”

“Thank you!” I wasn’t changing unless Killian hated the outfit.

While he saw them out, I packed up my coffee to-go. I made Killian a cup as well and listened as he closed the front door. I followed his footsteps through the house until he joined me. Before I could turn, his palm slid across my neck, and he used it to pull me back against his chest.

“Are you trying to get someone hurt?” Killian demanded gruffly, his breath hot against my ear. I shuddered, and the hand around my neck tightened. “Because if you go out dressed like that, baby girl, I’m going to end up fucking killing someone if they look at you in any way.”

Oh. Why did they excite me so much? Something about his possessiveness—even at the expense of others—made my pussy clench with anticipation.

“But it’s my costume,” I said. Rotating in his arms, I fluttered my lashes at him. I knew exactly what I was doing to him. “Do you not like it?”

His mouth crashed into mine as he walked me back against the counter, tongue driving between my lips. I grabbed those stupid suspenders and used them to pull him closer. His teeth dragged across my lower lip.

“God, you’re a fucking cocktease,” he muttered against my mouth.

“Can we tonight?” I asked. My words gave him pause, and he let go of me. Braced against the counter behind me, his nose bumped mine as he studied my expression. “Please?”

For as much control here and there as he dared to take, I knew he was holding back. Some part of him still felt guilty about using his power against me in Iron Falls. But I wanted him to take more. I wanted him to take it all. He knew how to do things to my body I desperately craved—things I’d missed for three years.

I wanted to submit completely again.

“Are you sure?” Killian replied quietly.

“We have our room back, and we talked about it. I feel you holding back with me.”

“Do you trust me?”

“I wouldn’t have asked—”

“Do you trust me to take complete control over you again, Genevieve?” he interrupted, his tone intense. “If there’s even a single part of you that doubts me, we can’t. I won’t do it. You could get hurt.”

“I trust you, Killian,” I said honestly.

“Okay.” Killian nodded. “But not tonight.”

“No?”

“No,” he agreed. “We start now. Hands back on the counter.”

“But—”

“Genevieve.” That warning in his voice sent a shiver down my spine. “Listen.”
