“I want to know, Henry. I want to know for sure.”

My stomach churned at that… but it was the truth.

I just had to know if Henry was Travis’s father.

“Then that’s what we will do,” Henry said. “I can get things arranged. You’re probably going to have to talk to Travis though.”

“I know. I want him to understand some of it. Am I a bad mother for this?”

“Not at all, Sage. You have to trust your gut.”

I gently kissed him. “This moment right here has to end, doesn’t it?”

“This moment? Yes. But there will be a billion more for us to share.”

Henry stood up, taking me with him. He placed me on my feet and I looked up at him for a moment.

I went back into the master bedroom just in time to see my phone screen light up.

As if I needed more complications in my life, Tad’s name waited there on my screen.

Texts of how much he missed me. Texts of needing to know where I was and if I was safe.

Part of me just wanted Henry to go beat the crap out of Tad to get him out of my life for good…

Chapter Thirty-Six

HENRY

I dropped my bag to the floor and Rome was right up in my face.

He sniffed me. Like literally sniffed me. I’m talking his nose touched my neck.

I pushed him away.

“What the hell, Rome?” Joe bellowed.

“This man is in love,” Rome said. He smelled the air again. “And he’s so sexed up, he’s practically stoned.”

“That’s your best?” I asked.

“In love,” Seb said.

“Always have been, guys,” I said. “No surprise there.”

“The beach house thing won her over?” Atlas asked.

“She knew it was a rental. No big deal. We’re figuring this thing out. In fact, I kind of did something…”

“You proposed!” Jago yelled. “Dude! Congrats!”

“Whoa,” I said. “I did not propose anything to anyone. Well, that’s a lie. I proposed for Sage and Travis to come here. Today. Kind of right now.”

“You’ve got it bad,” Joe said.

“I know,” I said. “I’m just trying to help them out.”

“How old is the kid?” Seb asked.
