His perfectly in place hair didn’t move an inch.

His first stop?

Sage.

Without hesitating for a moment, he touched her left arm and leaned in and planted a kiss to her cheek.

Sage looked right at me, then turned her head away.

As I processed the sight before me, this guy in the dark green suit made his move for a more intimate kiss.

His mouth seeking Sage’s mouth.

My hands curled right up into fists and I wanted to put this guy in Leon’s grave.

This is the ‘my love’ guy.

Her husband?

Why wasn’t he at the house…?

The guy who had been texting Sage.

The guy Sage failed to mention.

Not that it was her job to tell me about anyone in her life…

It didn’t make sense to me.

Why he wasn’t there last night. Or why he wasn’t there this morning.

Why hadn’t he tied Travis’s tie?

The guy reached for Travis and Travis made no attempt to hide his feelings as he turned and walked away.

Okay. So Travis hates this guy.

The guy then held Sage by both her arms.

She looked really uncomfortable.

Enough that I found myself walking toward her, wanting to save her.

But what the hell did I know about this guy? What did I know about her?

I gritted my teeth and looked at the casket again.

We’re not kids. We’re not teenagers.

A priest then slowly approached and offered a loud announcement that the service would begin now.

I stood right in place.

Sage sat down and Travis was right next to her.

The guy sat at the opposite end of the row.

He had a somber look on his face - the fakest caring look I ever saw.
