“You’ll fuck with my head now if you don’t touch me.” I swallowed. “You didn’t take advantage of me. You’re protective and I feel safe with you. I want you, Smoke.”
“You sure?”
“Yes.”
His hand dropped from mine, but only so he could reach up and cradle my cheeks. “We’ll go slow. You tell me to stop, I stop. I want you Logan, but I don’t want you to have any regrets, okay?”
“Okay,” I whispered.
He gently lowered his lips to mine. The kiss was soft, tender.
When he pulled back, I loosened my hold on the coverlet and then spread it out on top of the bed before climbing underneath the covers.
Smoke slowly removed the towel from around his waist.
My breath caught in my throat.
Smoke was virile and looked cut in his clothes. Out of them, he looked like a marble statue of a Greek god. Muscular thighs, lean upper body.

He slid into bed next to me and lifted his arm. “Come here.”
I rolled into his embrace until I was settled against his side.
Smoke reached over my body and grasped my leg, urging me to lift it and set it across his waist.
“Is this comfortable for you?” I asked.
“Yeah.”
I pressed my cheek to his chest and took a few deep breaths. My heart was drumming a mile a minute.
“Didn’t take you for a cuddler,” I said finally.
He ran his fingers through my damp hair. “Anything goes with you.”
“So, you’re not normally a cuddler?” I asked.
“I’m not normally around long enough to know.”
“Shocking.” I giggled.
His fingers left my hair and inched down my body. “The women I’ve been with are the type that want the same thing from me as I want from them. No-strings attached fun.”
“We’re no-strings attached fun,” I pointed out. I placed my hand on his chest and gently began tracing circles across his skin.
“True.”
“Then why are you cuddling me?”
“Because cuddling you calms the homicidal rage inside me that wants to kill your ex-fiancé.”
I pressed my palm flat against his heart. “I don’t have to worry about Knox anymore.”
“How long did you have to worry about him laying his hands on you?”
“Only recently.”
