Levi stared up at the man who had become like a father to him. He felt so much love and respect for the man.
“Chase approached me and told me that he wanted to propose to you tonight, and he wanted to include the whole family in the proposal. I knew instantly that Chase was the right man for you. He understands you; he loves and cares for you, and he will also do everything in his power to make sure that you are always happy and protected. So, as my gift to both you and Chase, I sent out invitations to all my closest friends and asked if they would like to join us for your proposal here tonight, and they all agreed to donate money as a gift to help you both start your life as a married couple.”
Shocked, Levi gasped, covering his mouth with both his hands.
“All funds collected as part of the ‘Belle Fund,’” Matteo gave a wink, “are funds that will be given to you both as this gift. So far, we have collected over seven hundred and eighty thousand Euros.”
“Holy shit,” Chase gasped, gripping onto Levi’s waist for support. The two still sat as they were, with Levi straddling Chase, unable to move.
“Oh my God!” Levi finally managed to break through the shock in his system. He jumped up out of Chase’s lap and lunged into Matteo’s arms. “I can’t believe you did this,” Levi whispered into Matteo’s ear as he hugged the man like never before.
“Just wait until you get your wedding gift,” Matteo whispered back.
A large set of arms wrapped themselves around both Levi and Matteo.
“I don’t know what to say… Dad,” Chase hesitated before adding that last word.
Matteo shot Chase an awkward glance. “Let’s not go that far just yet.”
The room burst into laughter.
Chase took Levi’s hand, and they turned to face everyone who had come out for this evening’s event. Levi tried his best to hold back his tears, but tonight meant so much to him.
“We wanted to thank everybody for being here tonight to participate in one of the most amazing nights of my life,” Chase began. “We can’t thank you enough for your generosity.”
Chase bent down and planted another kiss on Levi’s lips. The room around them swelled in a sea of love and excitement.
Levi couldn’t imagine a more perfect proposal. He got to celebrate it with his family, his friends, and most of all, with the man that he loved.
Staring into Chase’s gorgeous blue eyes, he caressed the side of Chase’s face. He couldn’t wait to start the rest of their lives together. Forever and a day.
“I love you, babe,” Levi said, overwhelmed with emotion.
“I love you, too.”
