“I, for one, believe our bonuses should be adjusted,” Tristan announced. He was lounging back on the cushions, smiling lazily. “Accordingly, I deserve Andrew’s full apportionment.”

“You deserve to fuck off,” Andrew replied.

The four of us laughed. I bent down and kissed Melinda softly.

“I can’t believe I’m getting paid for this,” she said, rolling over and stretching out.

Her dress was still hiked up, and I gave her bare ass a smack. “Worth every penny.”

Pierce and I woke up the next day and went for a light jog through Paris. Nobody recognized him in the early hours of the morning, especially since Linda and the other bodyguard were keeping their distance ahead and behind us on our route.

The Bellerophon arrived in Europe a day later. We flew down to Barcelona to board it, and were greeted with warm smiles and hugs from many of the crew. They were happy to see us—and Pierce especially. After what I had seen from the billionaire, I knew their warmth was genuine.

We spent the next two months sailing all over the Mediterranean. The first week we visited Marseille and Rome. After that was Capri and Palermo. We turned north into the Adriatic Sea and stayed three nights in Dubrovnik, which I recognized from the show Game of Thrones. After that was a full week hopping around Greek islands.

I had grown used to a life of luxury, being waited on everywhere we went and when we were aboard the Bellerophon. I didn’t let it go to my head—on the contrary, Pierce’s down-to-earth attitude and the way his crew loved him made it easy to feel like they were part of our group, rather than paid servants who were supposed to be there. It was the opposite of how I imagined billionaires living.

It’s because of Pierce, I thought while watching him swim in the blue waters off Capri. It would be different with anyone else.

We made it a habit of jogging together every time we stopped in port. It was a great way to see a city, and it allowed him to be out in public as a regular person. Especially when we snuck out without telling Linda and the other bodyguard. She scolded us when we returned, telling stories of kidnappings and ransoms, but Pierce only smiled, put a reassuring hand on her shoulder, and told her everything would be fine.

We had sex all along the way. Lots of sex. Pierce and I slept together almost every night, but we paired up in different combinations, depending on everyone’s mood. Sometimes Andrew joined in, or Tristan, or both. There was a three-day period where Pierce and Andrew flew to Geneva for a conference, so Tristan and I spent the time alone having hot one-on-one sex. I had grown to appreciate all three men, their similarities and their differences.

And sleeping with Andrew and Tristan made me appreciate the time Pierce and I spent alone together. If anything, it heightened the sexual chemistry between me and the billionaire. It was like we were on a honeymoon; we couldn’t keep our hands off each other.

Everything seemed perfect, except for one small fact: I hadn’t gotten pregnant yet. My period came for a second time since signing the contract, then a third. Pierce shrugged when I told him each time, but I could sense that it was beginning to concern him underneath the surface.

Sure, we were having fun. But the core purpose of the contract hadn’t been fulfilled yet. We could extend the contract for another six months if we needed, which would be fun… but I hadn’t thought that would be needed. And I was sure Pierce thought the same.

No use worrying about something I can’t control, I told myself.

One afternoon, while sunbathing on the sun deck while the Bellerophon was in dock, I finally got around to calling my sister. “The big event is getting close! How’s the planning going?”

My sister Carly let out one of her signature groans. “Planning is fine, everything is lined up. Except for the florist being unable to tell the difference between yellow and gold, but I’ve set her straight. Honestly, Mom is the biggest problem right now.”

“Causing drama?”

“So much drama!” Carly exclaimed. “I swear, it’s like she’s searching for ways to complicate my life. You should see the texts I get from her. I wish you were here to help defuse all of the crazy.”

I barked a laugh. “I’ve never been able to defuse Mom’s crazy. You were always better at it than me.”

“You would be able to distract her. Something. The way it is right now, you’re out of sight traveling the world, which leaves me to take the brunt of it!”

“I know, I’m not a great Maid of Honor,” I admitted. “Do you forgive me?”

“Only because I know you’re making a metric buttload of money as a surrogate. Where are you right now, anyway? Mom said you were in Greece last time you spoke?”

“Tripoli right now,” I replied.

“Oh my God. I don’t even know where that is, but it sounds exotic. Where else have you been since we talked last?”

“Greece, Croatia, Italy…” I winced at how extravagant it sounded. “Bouncing around. Kind of like a Carnival Cruise in the Mediterranean.”

She groaned. “You’re making my Hawaii honeymoon look boring by comparison.”
