Her face was scrubbed clean, her dark hair a little messy. It’s not like he had anything for her to tie it up and only a comb that he used on his hair. He heard her yelping trying to pull it through hers last night. Must be the curls and product in it from yesterday that made it not a pleasant experience.

“The fact I’m walking a little funny only adds to it,” she said, moving closer and hugging him. “Your neighbors are going to love this sight. Unless they are used to it.”

She said it as a joke when she stepped back and he smiled, but it brought back her comments about Roxy last night too.

Rather than address that and maybe start something, he slapped her ass and yanked her in for one final kiss.

“I’ll talk to you later or tomorrow,” he said.

“Bye, Lincoln.”

He watched her walk out and then finished getting ready and left early for the airstrip. It wasn’t all that much earlier than he’d planned, maybe fifteen minutes, but there was no reason to sit around the house either.

His rented two-bedroom cottage never felt like home to him.

He wasn’t one for decorating, but he kept it clean and as comfortable as possible.

When Egan lived with him, they were like two single bachelors. He’d have to say that Egan’s condo in Boston was more stylish, but having two pilots flying out of Boston now meant there wasn’t much of a need for him to stay there anymore.

He was fine with that. Soon, he was sure his room would be turned into a nursery. They had a crib in Egan’s room right now. He’d have that talk with his best friend at some point. He didn’t want Egan to think he had any bad feelings over it. It made sense and it was Egan’s place.

With Blake based out of Boston for her job, there were times they were staying there anyway. Blake would be back to work full time when they returned from the honeymoon. He knew full well she’d been doing some work while she was out, but not full time by any means.

He was pulling his helicopter out of the hangar and getting it set when he saw Egan driving in with Blake.

“You’re early,” he said to his boss.

“Thought I’d get set up and knew you’d be here. We can go over a few things before I leave.”

“We’ve got it covered,” Lincoln said. “It’s not the first time you’ve taken a vacation. I can handle it.”

He’d told himself he wasn’t going to call his boss for anything. He tried never to reach out to him when Egan was on vacation. Most times Egan was checking in with him more than anything.

Since Mitchell owned twenty-five percent of the Charter company, it wasn’t like there wasn’t someone else to go to if he needed him.

“I know you can,” Egan said. “Maybe I’m just thrilled to get a start on my honeymoon.” Egan was wiggling his eyebrows. “Got to try for baby number two.”

Lincoln looked for Blake, but she must have gone to Egan’s office. He helped his buddy pull out his helicopter to get it ready too.

“Have fun with that,” he said, grinning.

“Oh, I plan on it. You’re going to take care of my baby this week, right?”

“Kaden is going to love every minute of my attention,” he said.

“Asshole,” Egan said, smirking. “I meant this baby.” Egan was slapping his hand on the helicopter.

“Dude, this one is going to love me more than you too when you get back. I know how to handle a lady.”

Egan started to laugh. They’d always joked the new bird was a chick that needed to be handled with care.

“So I saw yesterday with my cousin,” Egan said.

He didn’t want to talk about his relationship with Grace so let it drop.

An hour later, he was landing in Boston with some of the extended Bond family that lived there.

When everyone was off and on their way, he went into the office to wait for Egan, then he’d take Egan and Blake to Logan International and drop them off there to catch their flight to Aruba. He’d pick them up when they returned on Saturday.
