“Come into my office,” Egan said. “We’ll talk there.”

“You need your father with you. That’s not good.”

Lincoln was grinning but only because he wasn’t sure what was going on and didn’t want to show any weaknesses by appearing nervous.

He’d done that enough in his life and was damned if he was going to let anyone see it again.

“I’ll start,” Mitchell said. “If we let Egan tell this we’ll be here all night.”

He frowned. “Go on.”

“What I’m going to say is confidential. It goes no further than the three of us in this room. When I’m done you’ll know more people will be aware, but we all have to sign off on nondisclosure paperwork. Hailey is drawing everything up and we’ll get it signed and sent off tomorrow.”

“Hand delivered,” Egan said. “I’ll do it tomorrow via the jet.”

That was news to him. Egan hardly ever flew the family jet, but he was a backup pilot if needed. Since it was the jet and not a helicopter it had to be far enough away.

“Hunter received a call Tuesday afternoon from an executive at Bravo. As you know, Hailey and Bella have been pitching reality shows for the island through them.”

He’d known that for years. Ever since the first magician competition and then a musician one too.

“Oh boy,” he said. “This sounds promising.”

“It is,” Mitchell said. “And what is going to happen soon will hopefully lead into that reality show. Right now, something else is going on, but it’s giving us hope they are feeling the island out. They are filming a cooking competition of West Coast versus East Coast wedding destinations. It’s all about the food but is going to focus on the resorts too. Good publicity.”

And since Hunter was contacted that meant The Retreat.

It was then the cooking competitions hit him.

“Grace?” he asked. He wasn’t aware she was interested in anything like that.

“Yes,” Mitchell said. “She has no say in the matter.”

“So she wasn’t happy about it?” he asked, frowning again. He didn’t like where this was going.

“It’s not that,” Egan said. “Grace has always liked that her last name was Stone and she could do her own thing. This show is going to focus on her tie to the family when it’s aired.”

“Oh,” he said. Yeah, he knew his girlfriend wouldn’t be happy over that. “Did she fight back over it?”

“No,” Mitchell said. “She wouldn’t. She is competitive so I don’t think the show is the problem. Now that she’s wrapped her head around things, I think she’s on board.”

He’d find out later tonight. “I’m assuming film crews are going to be here at some point to get a background on her?” he asked. Being Grace’s boyfriend, he understood why he’d have to sign legal documents.

“Yes,” Egan said. “Next week.”

“Wow,” he said. “That’s fast.”

“This show was already set up and it was a last minute cancellation. They called to get Grace in their place,” Mitchell said.

“Wouldn’t she have to have applied or something?” he asked.

“You’d think, but she didn’t. We are pretty sure this is tied to Bella and Hailey and their proposals.”

“Which is why this is a good thing,” he said. “Got it.”

“I don’t think you do,” Egan said. “Not yet.”

“What am I missing?” All he had going through his head was the fact that his girlfriend was going to be gone for a bit. He’d get those facts from her.
