Vincenzo Salvini. Matteo’s big brother.

The boss of the Italian Mafia in New York. One of the most influential, most revered, most well-known men in the underworld had arrived.

“Hey, Vince.”

Vincenzo pointedly stared at my arm before his dark eyes met mine, hard, unflinching.

“I’m unbelievably sorry Matt got hurt,” I said.

Matt scoffed. “The world doesn’t revolve around you.”

My eyes went to him. He was still pale, his eyes sunken in, his smile weak. “Well, in this case, you got hurt because the Donnellys thought you were me. So it’s my right to feel responsible.”

He rolled his eyes at me, a move so similar to Fee’s, it made me smile.

Gabe got a call, grabbed Sophie’s hand, and they both stepped outside.

“How’s the pain?” I asked Matt who chuckled.

“They’re giving me the good stuff, so I’m floating.” He pushed the button for another dose of pain medication. It took a moment, but then he relaxed, his eyes on half-mast.

I narrowed my brows, then focused back on Vince, who looked worried, as well.

“What are your plans?” Vince asked right when Gabe came back in, cleared his throat, and drew everyone’s attention.

“I just got off the phone with Fee,” Gabe said.

My head snapped around, and I locked eyes with Gabe.

He returned my gaze. Held it. “Apparently Fee’s father had her locked up ever since she arrived home.”

I inhaled sharply, and my heart started a bruising rhythm.

He’d locked her up? Why in the world would he lock up his own daughter?

“There’s more,” Gabe said, his voice quiet. “Connor Donnelly has arranged for Fee to marry some Russian mobster. It’s part of a deal to secure a new business alliance with the Zotovs.” Gabe sighed. “Ivan Zotov.”

My whole body went ramrod straight. The news hit me like a sledgehammer. Zotov—wasn’t that the guy at the club—at the meeting with Franco?

What the actual fuck?

Gabe shook his head. “This is really getting out of hand,” he murmured while shaking his head.

Out of hand? Out of hand? The asshole was in our club, watching us like a spectator in a Zoo.

“The wedding is happening tomorrow.”

Oh no, it wasn’t. I jumped up and faced Gabe fully. “I need the family jet.”

Gabe nodded.

“We’ll take mine,” Vincenzo said from behind me, taking me off guard. I watched him share a long look with Matteo. “It’s time to teach that asshole a lesson.”

“Well.” Cristo grinned. “Looks like we’re having a road trip after all.”

“I want to go,” Matt said, and everybody turned and looked at him.

There was zero chance of Matt coming. But I could empathize. Could understand the feeling of helplessness he must be battling right now.
