I’m past caring as I reply, “I’d rather you not eye-fuck other women in front of my face while on a date. Guess we’re both disappointed.” I don’t even want to be on this date anymore. I’d rather be with my son and my guys. “Where’s the restroom?” Levi stews for a second before pointing towards the back corner of the room.

Once I’m alone in the restroom, I’m conflicted. Sweetie told me that only one sin can be on Earth at all times. Sleepy said if I ever needed him all I had to do was call his name. I’ve done it before but there wasn’t another sin out of Hell at the time. “Belphegor.” I pour my heart and soul into his name, hoping he hears my desperation.

A bright light appears behind me, blinding me. I can feel the tears in my eyes, but I refuse to let them fall. “Snow?” Sleepy is standing behind me in a dark room, a blue ring of light around him.

“Is this a portal?” Even in my distraught state, I still have time for questions.

“What’s wrong, Snow?” He stays on the other side of the portal. I open my mouth to answer but nothing comes out. He holds out a hand to me and I take it, stepping through to Hell and leaving Envy behind.

12. Beelzebub

If someone had asked me a week ago if I would take care of their human toddler, I would laugh in their face or ask, “what’s in it for me.” Yet here I am, going on a treasure hunt with Rellick. I made a map to Mammon’s room with ‘obstacles’ in our way. We are hiding from Pride, because he’s a dick, and Greed, because we’re attempting to find his gold.

I decided to stay in my human form for this adventure, and we are in matching costumes. He’s the captain and I am his first mate. I showed him my true body, a giant bronze and orange fly, but surprisingly, Rellick wasn’t scared. He had a few questions, and then acted like it was completely normal for me to look totally different than him.

Rellick is very smart. Almost manipulative. When I handed him the map, he asked why I can’t just magic us there. I did not think I would have to answer so many questions. I was meant to keep him occupied while Levi treated Bree to dinner… something that should be designated for me.

“There are spells around the treasure. We have to sneak there. No one can know that we know where it is.” Rellick accepted that answer and we set off. He’s good with numbers for a young child. The numbers he recognized, but not the words. I changed the map to use symbols instead. Now I was following his lead through our castle. Mammon’s wing is just below mine, but a short trip would be no fun. The map goes a long way around most rooms and through the throne room and kitchen.

We’re currently in the den which leads out to the balcony directly under Mammon’s room, which is filled with gold and treasure. You would think he was the dragon rather than Levi. The map takes down the stairs from the fourth floor (my floor) to the first floor, and through the kitchen. Then we move up to the second floor where our throne room and offices are. The library is also on the second floor and directly under Mammon’s room. I’m debating drilling a hole into the ceiling, but then I’d have to explain why we’re defacing the towers. Is it worth it to see the smile on Rellick’s face? Maybe.

I decided against the hole in the ceiling and push Rellick towards the terrace. I’ll use my wings to lift us onto the third floor. So far, Rellick is having the time of his life just exploring the towers. He’s going to love Mammon’s room.

Once on the terrace, I realized that with him on my shoulders, I could jump, and he would reach. “Rellick. Climb up. We’re going to jump.”

“Really?! I’ll be super tall!” I grab him under his arms and lift.

“Who’s the kid?” The voice startles Rellick, causing him to fall backward.

Wrath catches him, lifting him back into place on my shoulders. Satan is in full demon form, wings, horns, and all. Rellick freezes, staring with wide eyes. “Rellick, meet my brother Satan.” Curiosity rises in Wrath’s black eyes. “Brianna’s boy,” I reply to his silent question.

“Nice to meet you, Rellick.” Satan and the boy study each other.

“You didn’t bring me my bike.” Rellick’s voice is quiet but fierce. He actually seems mad at Wrath… is Satan feeding his anger? Has he been to see Brianna before? “And why do you need reindeer if you have wings?”

Ohhh. I see what’s going on. Opening my mouth to correct him, Satan cuts me off. “I’m sorry, kid. I guess I didn’t get your letter.” Why is he encouraging him? “And my wings get tired after a time. Just like your legs get tired if you run too much.”

“I don’t get tired.”

Satan laughs, a real gut laugh, at Rellick. “Well, kid. I’m old.” Rellick laughs with him. “What are you doing?”

I begin to make up an excuse, but Rellick tells the truth. “We’re on a treasure hunt!”

Satan knows exactly what’s going on when he hears the word “treasure.” His lips curve upwards in a sly mischievous smirk. “Do you need help?”

Rellick cuts me off… again. “Sure! But I’m the captain.”

“Of course.” Wrath leaps up to the third-floor terrace using his blood red and black wings to hold him afloat above the cement. “Throw him up.”

“Are you mental? I’m not throwing Brianna’s child up an entire floor.” She’d murder me! At least, she’d attempt to..

Rellick moves his feet, so they are flat on my shoulders, trying to push himself to standing. “No, little man. I’m not throwing you.”

“It’s okay, Bubby. You’ll catch me if Santa doesn’t.” Damn right, I will! I can’t believe I’m letting myself be talked into this by a three-year-old. My hands lock onto his feet as he catches his bearings. “Ready, Santa?”

“Ready, kid. Just jump.” Rellick bends his knees, jumping as hard as he can. My hands stay on his feet, pushing him into Wrath’s arms. I shift only my wings to follow. “Now, the treasure is guarded by the evil monster. I will distract him, while you and Gluttony sneak in for the treasure. Got it?” Satan can’t help but try to take over.

“Who’s Gut-nee?” Wrath’s eyes switch to me, and Rellick’s follow. “No, that’s Bubby.”
