“Yeah, Santa. I’m Bubby.”

With a roll of his eyes and a ‘whatever’, the three of us walk towards the doors that lead to the staircase. “Wait here. I’ll lead him downstairs and then you can go in. Wrath leaves us behind. I pick up Rellick, holding him on my hip as we sit outside the terrace doors and listen. There’s a knock on wood, then Satan’s booming voice. “Mammon, you ugly gold fuck! It’s time to get out of your room! It’s been five days! I know you lost our fight, but I didn’t hurt you this bad!”

I forgot that Wrath broke every bone in his body at Brianna’s request. Guess we really did need his help. “Go the fuck away, you dumb flying piece of shit! You broke every bone in my body! It may be healed but it still hurts!” Mammon’s whining voice is loud, even through the wall.

Rellick flinches as a door crashes in. “And I’ll do it again!” Wrath can be heard moving into the room, and within seconds, Mammon is fighting over his shoulder as they come onto the terrace. Satan leaps to the ground and they are out of sight.

“Come on, little man. Quickly.” I usher Rellick into Mammon’s room.

I put the boy down and attempt to close what’s left of the door. If I fix it, Greed will know someone was here. “Wow!” Rellick’s slow exhale of awe leaves me smiling. I am a great babysitter! “So much treasure.”

“I’m going to watch the door. You can pick out one thing.” I look around at my brother’s piles of gold. Coins, jewelry, weapons… anything you can think of in gold, Mammon has it.

I listen out for any noises. Sloth is probably sleeping in his room and Envy is at dinner with Bree. Those are the only two other people on this floor. Lucifer can fly to his tower; Wrath is above this floor like me. Lust is with us, too, but he rarely spends time there. “Maw-Maw.”

The voice is so low, I almost didn’t hear it. “Yeah, little man. This is Mammon’s room.”

“No. Maw-Maw.” I look behind me at Rellick who is holding a silver chain necklace with a handmade rainbow pendant. It looks like crayon wax under a clear glass, encased in bronze. This doesn’t look like something Mammon would have.

“Who’s Maw-Maw?” I ask him.

Our attention is taken away by a bright light coming from Sloth’s open door. A portal has opened with Brianna on the other side. Her eyes are rimmed red, like she’s been crying. Where the fuck is Leviathan?! “Come on, Rellick.” I lift him onto my hip, pocketing the necklace, and walk into Belphegor’s room where Brianna is stepping through the portal. “What’s wrong? What happened?” Her face snaps to us and her arms immediately open to her son. Rellick flies into her arms, squeezing his mother tight.

Belphegor stands behind Bree, wrapping his long blue arms around both of them and holding them close.

I want that. I want this with them. I want to be a part of this family.

My fingers brush her cheek, lifting her face so our eyes meet. “Talk to me, Honey.”

Her glassy green eyes lift to me. “I should have stayed with you.” The depreciation in her voice breaks my heart.

Envy’s aura seeps through the wall of Sloth’s room, making it known he was back in Hell.

“Take them home,” Sloth tells me. He transfers Brianna and Rellick into my arms and pushes the three of us back through the portal. I use my own magic to close the portal and teleport us to Brianna’s apartment.

I carry them into Brianna’s bedroom, sitting with them in my lap. “Why did Sleepy send you with us?”

“Did you not want me to come with you?”

Apparently, that joke was not the right thing to say. “That’s not what I meant.” Tears begin to flow down her cheeks. “I do want you here. I just don’t understand why he sent you with us. Like why someone needed to be with us.”

Rellick is still wrapped around his mother. Brianna hasn’t let go of him and Rellick seems content to stay in her arms. I hold them closer to me, getting comfortable in her bed. “Only one of us can be on Earth at a time. With me here, Envy can’t get to you.” A loud sniffle is her reply. “What happened, Honey? What did he do?”

“More like what he didn’t do.” She wiggles around, inadvertently grinding against my cock. Now is not the time to become aroused. I tighten my arms, stopping her movements. “He ignored me. He spoke to the waitress the whole time, barely looking at me. And she didn’t really acknowledge me either. And he made me feel fat, which I know he didn’t mean it that way but it’s how my brain took it. We didn’t even get to the food.”

“You still haven’t eaten?” How could Leviathan be so stupid? He has the universe’s most beautiful woman, and he ignores her? She shakes her head in response. “What do you want to eat?”

Rellick finally lifts his head from his mother’s shoulder. “Mommy, I want some shrimp. With potatoes and dip.”

“That sounds fantastic my love. Some Cajun-boiled seafood and sides sound amazing.” Her tone starts to cheer at mention of seafood.

“What kind? Be specific.” If I know exactly what she wants, I can make it appear and brighten her day.

“I normally get a pound of boiled shrimp, three blue crabs, four potatoes and a half cob of corn.”

I bring my forehead to hers. “Picture it in your head and think very hard.” All of the Sins can see into other beings minds if they are thinking sinful though that we can feed off of.. It comes easiest to Lucifer, a ‘gift of the angels.’ *Insert eyeroll here*

With our foreheads together, I focus my energy on her. In her mind is a beautiful spread of different types of boiled crab, shrimp, lobster, big and miniature, and oysters. Off to the side are boiled red potatoes, corn, sausage, and mushrooms. Two plastic bowls finish the table, one filled with a pink sauce and the other garlic butter. I can see it perfectly pictured in her mind and I bring it to life in her living room.
