Actually, it was chaos, but beautiful chaos, nonetheless.
This morning, as I looked around the breakfast table, my heart swelled with joy.
Hunter was at the head of the table, playfully negotiating with Jamie over how many bites of pancake he needed to eat before getting more syrup. Mia was discussing her school science project, while Carlos eagerly showed Hunter a drawing he had made. The twins, Ava and Bella, were giggling over some shared joke between themselves.
It was everything I’d ever wanted and more.
And now, I had even more news to share.
By some miracle, I was pregnant.
I’d found out just that morning from a routine blood test. The doctor said it was a one in a million chance, that my condition had severely impaired my ability to conceive, but somehow, a little spark of life had grown inside me.
I had no idea what lay ahead for us, but what I did know was that this was most certainly, without a doubt, my happily ever after.
