Rolf and Andrei loomed over her, but rather than threatening, it was oddly protective.

“If you don’t want to work tonight, you don’t have to,” Rolf said.

Colette shook her head. “Sitting alone in my room with my thoughts isn’t a better option.”

“Then you stay by my side tonight.” Andrei looked down at her with an intensity and heat that she felt like physical pressure against her shoulders and chest. “My collar, a leash, and no one will come near you.”

Colette replied with a flippant. “That would make it hard to serve drinks and bring blankets.”

“Do you need a collar?” Rolf asked.

Yes. Landon’s collar.

“I…don’t know.” She shook her head. “I needed it that first night.”

Andrei started pulling open drawers.

“You’re sure you’re not a switch? Maybe you could be a Domme for the night,” Rolf said.

She shook her head. She’d actually played a leather-clad, boot-wearing, whip-wielding Mistress a few times as part of a heist, but had been careful to never actually scene as a Domme. She didn’t think she’d be able to maintain the act here at Club Alibi, not when surrounded by scenes that would bring her need to submit roaring to life.

Andrei turned to her, now holding a thick black collar.

If his mention of a leash hadn’t told her what kind of Dom he was, the collar he chose would have been a good hint. A wide band of padded black leather was studded with a variety of D-ring anchor points. It didn’t buckle closed—instead there were slots in the leather that fitted over a stiff metal loop. A small pad lock was then hooked through the loop.

That collar was a stark statement of ownership and control. Andrei stepped towards her, and Colette retreated instinctively, shaking her head.

Andrei dropped his hand to his side, watching her.

“I know it’s stupid,” she whispered. “Because he’s an asshole, but I can’t wear any collar but his.”

Rolf nodded. “It’s okay, Colette, we can?—”

The sound of a door banging open cut his words short.

“Peterson. Leonard,” Landon called out, voice muffled by the closed door.

It took her a minute to remember those were Rolf’s and Andrei’s last names.

“Where are you?” Landon shouted, his voice closer than it had been. “We’ve got a fucking problem.”

Rolf and Andrei both started for the door. Colette followed them. Andrei gently pushed her to one side so she was hidden behind the door as Rolf opened it.

“Stay here,” Andrei breathed, before stepping out into the hall and pulling the door closed behind himself.

TWENTY-FIVE

Landon jogged a couple meters towards the other end of the hall, checking to make sure Colette’s door was still closed, before doubling back to where Andrei and Rolf had just emerged from the storage room, both dressed for the night. Rolf wore leathers, while Andrei wore slacks and an untucked and unbuttoned dress shirt.

“What happened?” Rolf said. “Are the club subs okay?”

“This isn’t a Club Alibi problem,” Landon said, jogging back towards them. “This is an Interpol problem.”

Except it wasn’t a problem. Not according to the agent in charge.

According to him, it was an opportunity.

Andrei raised his brows, while Rolf nodded once, his posture changing as he shifted out of Dom mode.
