“My hair’s already down,” I say, shaking my head to conceal the smile crossing my lips.
Janice has a way of talking me into things. Especially if part of me already wants to do them.
I’m a college girl. College girls should be able to let loose and have some fun, no matter what they’re home life is like.
Are you really going to let your father dictate how you spend your free time?!
“Come on. Tell me the real reason you don’t want to find a party,” Janice says, pulling me right along with her. “Is it because you’d rather turn around and chase after professor McSteamy back there?”
Just like that, Ray’s fiery image is at the forefront of my mind again. Hell, I can almost feel the warmth of his rugged touch on the back of my hand. When he touched me, I pulled away, but only because it was so intense.
“He never said he was a professor,” I point out.
“Did he say what he was doing here then, hiding in the shadows?”
“He said he worked for the university.”
“Mysterious. And why did he jump out to scare you in particular?”
“I figured he wanted to let me know why the building was closed.”
Truly, I think he might actually have been some sort of undercover security for the university. He had too many muscles to be a professor, and I swear I saw what looked like black tattoos slithering out from beneath the cuffs of his dark turtleneck.
“… Or he wanted to drag you into some nearby alleyway, rip off your clothes and ravish you until the sun came up.”
“Janice!”
My voice breaks as I scold my friend, and I clench my thighs to keep a wave of arousal from making me tremble. The moment Ray had shaken my hand, I’d had the exact same thought.
Shit, I must really be horny if I’m turned on by the idea of some random older stranger essentially raping me. Hell, I swear I can practically hear the deep thumping bass of a nearby party, calling to me like some kind of frat boy siren.
Maybe I should really find a nice college boy to fool around with first, and quick, otherwise, who knows what kind of depraved situations I might get myself into.
“Hey, I’m just speaking the truth,” Janice says, pulling me down another street.
That’s when I finally stop in my tracks.
I know what’s happening now.
“Have you really been subtly leading me towards a house party this entire time?” I ask, staring up ahead.
At the end of the block is the infamous Sigma Phi frat house. A mansion that looms over the edge of the campus like a college version of a bouncy-castle.
The music I thought I’d heard in my head was actually coming from this place. Deep bass beats practically rattle the street as Janice tries to pull me closer to the party.
“I was only following my heart,” she smiles. “Look it’s just getting started. Hardly anyone is there. It’ll be a great chance to meet some new people.”
“I don’t want to meet anyone new,” I lie.
“Then, at least have some fun with a few classmates. I’m pretty sure I see Kelsey on the lawn, and is that Holly with her? They probably came straight here after they got the email about class being cancelled.”
Using my free hand to grab my phone, I take it out and check the time.
We’d only be about fifteen minutes into class by now. If I’m sticking to my plan for the night, I’d still have over an hour and a half before I have to get home. An hour and a half before anyone should even begin to realize that I’m missing.
“I don’t know, Janice…”
“It will be fun,” she insists, taking out her own phone. “Apparently it’s even a senior party, and I know you have a thing for older guys.”
