“You’ve had plenty of time to recover,” I tease, planting a final kiss on his lips before I slide off of him. Still, I only turn around to plant my ass between his legs as we welcome our guests.
“Hello, Auntie Fran!” A tiny voice says. Looking down, I see little Rian Kilpatrick racing around the kitchen island, toy gun in his hand, blasting away at some invisible enemies.
He’s got the same dirty blonde hair and blue eyes as his father. He’s going to be trouble, and I’m sure his parents couldn’t be happier about it.
“Hey, little guy,” I smile, leaning down for a hug. “Taking care of your baby sister?”
“Always,” he nods, a sudden seriousness coming over his cute little face.
“Good boy,” I say, rubbing the top of his head.
He runs away the second I stand back up, blasting his toy gun, but he makes a sharp one-eighty when he hears his other aunts and uncles come into the kitchen.
While everyone else is distracted saying hello to each other, I turn around and get on my tip-toes.
“I think we should excuse ourselves for a little while,” I whisper into Ray’s ear, as seductively as possible. The hard warmth of his body never fails to turn me on.
Plus, even with all of our injuries, we’ve been spending most of our mornings with at least a couple of hours of sex. It’s become second nature by this point.
Mama needs her milk.
We tell ourselves it’s part of the recovery process, like stretching or drinking lots of fluids. But really, we just can’t get enough of each other.
“… And leave our esteemed guests to fend for themselves?” he teases back.
“They’ll be here when we get back,” I remind him. “Unless they decide to leave before returning for dinner.”
Tonight is supposed to be the first night we all get together to celebrate Ray’s success, his official confirmation as Great Don.
But I guess everyone decided to show up early.
I’m not complaining. I’m in love with my new life, and the freedom that having unconditional love affords me.
Still, I know that all of this warmth will still be here after Ray and I have snuck off for some fun time.
In fact, there might be even more of it, because before I can pull Ray from the kitchen, we hear the arrival of some more familiar guests.
The new voices are easily recognizable. It’s Nolan and Valentina, and Shane and Tara.
I’ll say hello after Ray has ravaged me for the thousandth time. Because no matter how often we’re together, no matter how much we take from each other, no matter how much we give, it always feels just as good as the first time.
No. Wait. Scratch that.
It feels better.
It’s become obvious to me that this love Ray and I share isn’t some stagnant thing. It’s always growing. Expanding. Learning.
That’s how I know we’re going to last forever. Because we won’t ever be done with each other.
Together, we will learn. Together, we will grow. Together, we rule.
But most importantly, together, we will always find love.
And really, that’s all that matters.
