His puffy red cheeks darken as he steps forward.

“You heard me, bitch. You’re lucky I’m—”

Before he can finish, someone bursts into the kitchen through a door at the far end of the room. Another meathead. But this one isn’t looking for a fight. Instead, he makes a beeline for the sink.

He starts to throw up just before he reaches it.

“What the fuck, Tanner?!” One of the meatheads swears, jumping aside.

“Sorry, boys, had one too many. Thought I could soldier through it,” Tanner mumbles, leaning over the sink as he wipes drool from his slimy lips.

“Obviously not.”

“Why the fuck did you come here to the kitchen to puke?”

“I don’t know, I’m drunk. Fuck,” he curses. “All I know is that I was about to get lucky. But so much for that.”

“Lucky? With who?” asks the idiot who was about to pick a fight with me.

“They’re about to run train on a super drunk Italian girl upstairs,” Tanner chuckles, vomit dribbling from his lips. “Some exotic bitch from New York. Doesn’t sound like she can hold her liquor. Anyone want to take my spot?”

“I’ll go,” the chubby meathead immediately responds. Before any of his buddies can even blink, he’s pushed by all of them and disappeared behind the door at the far end of the kitchen.

It takes me a second to process what I just heard, but when I do, my gut drops.

A super drunk Italian girl from New York?

That has Sonia written all over it.

Fuck.

She’s in trouble.

Ignoring the situation around the keg, I immediately chase after the fucker who just left.

“Hey, where the hell do you think you’re going?” Someone shouts after me as I barge through the kitchen door.

I’m going to cause a scene.

Hell, maybe I am up for a fight, after all.

Reaching the second floor, I body check my way into the hallway. It’s not as busy as downstairs, but there is a crowd. Particularly, there’s a line-up of guys waiting outside of a large door at the end of the hallway.

The sick fucks.

“Hey, wait your turn!”

“Who the hell do you think you are?”

I’m followed by a flurry of angry shouts as I storm towards the door.

Still, no one tries to stop me, not even as I plunge my shoulder into the heavy frame and shove my way inside.

The bedroom is much darker than the hallway, and, at first, I can’t see much, especially when the heavy door swings shut behind me.

But I can sense other people in here. I can smell the stench of sex in the air.

“Wait your turn!” Someone snaps through the darkness up ahead.
