“Why did you show up here tonight?”
“Because you sent me a fucking text!”
“No, I didn’t,” Rian sighs, shaking his head. “And even if I did, why would you do anything I say? In what world does Rozalia Dorn respond to a text from Rian Kilpatrick?”
“In this world,” I tell him.
“Why?”
“Because the message said you wanted to apologize,” I huff, hanging my head.
It sounds so dumb when I say it out loud, but there’s no denying that was part of my decision.
“And you believed it?”
“No… but maybe I wanted to.”
“And I want to believe you’re not involved in this,” Rian sighs, some more of the sternness melting from his voice.
“You think I’m going to stick around and try to convince you?”
I can still feel his cum in my ass. My hole throbs. My thighs are stained with his seed. I don’t want to leave.
But what choice do I have?
“You think I’m going to let you leave?” Rian says, stepping forward.
I grip down on my gun.
“Try and stop me.”
He pauses. Those blue eyes stare right through my soul.
Then, just like that, his broad shoulders drop, and he turns from me.
“No. I won’t. If you want to help, you can come. Otherwise, you’re free to go.”
I’ve barely even processed his offer before he disappears into the light.
The door shuts behind him.
The room becomes dark again, and unbearably cold.
“I was always free to go!” I yell after him, emotion clogging my throat. “Fuck this!”
Whipping around, I storm towards the door on the opposite end of the dark hallway.
It leads out into the alleyway out back. I burst through it with cold tears in my eyes.
“Fucking asshole,” I curse.
I hate how emotional I’m getting, but there’s no denying what just happened back there.
Fuck.
I went on my first date.
Rian spoiled me. I’d never been treated like that before. It felt fucking special.
