“Where is he?” I ask, as calmly as possible.
“… Wh… Who?” the idiot whimpers.
Sucking on my teeth, I reach down and pull up his shirt. Using my jagged blade, I slice the fucker’s right nipple clean off.
He howls into the smoke-filled night as blood gushes from the open wound. I shake some of the blood off my blade and let his shirt fall back over his squirming body.
“Where is Leander Onasis?” I ask, once more, tightening my grip around his sweat-drenched hair.
“Just fucking kill me,” the bleeding man begs. “Please. Just fucking kill me!”
“Only if you answer my question.”
“And.. And if I… if I don’t?”
He’s not going to last much longer. Each new breath he takes is shallower than the last. If I’m going to get answers out of him, I’ll need to be quick.
“Then I’ll keep you alive as long as I can,” I tell him. “And I’ll make sure every last second is utter hell.”
Reaching down, I drop my knife and take his hand. He’s not strong enough to resist as I take his index finger and bend it backward until I hear a snap.
“Stop!” he whimpers.
“Where is Leander?”
“I… I don’t know…” I grab his thumb next. “No!” he cries out. “Listen. Listen! The best… the best I can do is tell you where to find someone… find someone who should know where Leander is… I swear… please….”
“I’ve already been down that road before,” I grunt. “I’m sick of it.”
Grinding my teeth, I start to bend his thumb back.
“His name is Tytus!” the fucker squeals.
That stops me dead in my tracks
“… Tytus Ryzdon?”
The dying man nods.
“I… I know where he hides out…”
The fucker’s head bobs as blood pours from his wounds. He’s on death’s door.
I slap him back to life.
“Tell me,” I demand.
But suddenly, I’m not so worried about Leander.
“Please… kill me…” he whispers.
“Tell me!” I roar.
My heart is pounding. I can’t think straight.
Tytus.
Fucking hell.
