“Alright, then I’ll kill that traitorous brother of yours. Gabriel. Call it a bonus.”

That nearly makes me pull the trigger. But before I can do anything stupid, Drago seems to come to life.

“That wasn’t part of the deal!” he shouts, turning to Leander.

To his credit, the spoiled Greek billionaire actually looks mildly shocked.

“My mistake,” he says, taken aback. “I thought you weren’t on the best of terms with him.”

“That doesn’t mean you get to kill him,” Tytus barks.

“Then I won’t. Not that I would have personally anyway.” The asshole has the gall to check his spotless nails.

Imagine me marrying a man like that. No amount of money or power would be worth it.

Dread and sadness and anger swirl around inside of me as I prepare to fight my way out of this.

Then, like a sudden nightmare, I feel something that makes me instantly drop my gun.

“Roz?”

The first vibrations make my vision blurry. And I can only barely see Tytus checking on me with quick glances over his shoulder. He can’t look for long. There are too many guns trained on him.

“Rozalia? What’s wrong?” Drago’s voice is also filled with concern.

The strength of the vibrations increase.

“I…” I need to get out of here.

Without even bothering to pick up my gun, I turn around and bolt.

I don’t know where I’m going—Tytus has the keys to the boat, and we counted at least a dozen more of Leander’s men waiting behind on the yacht when we left—but it doesn’t matter. I need to leave. Flee, while my legs will still carry me.

I will not be shamed like that in front of my brother. Not in front of Leander either. And definitely not in front of Drago.

Rian must be trying to find out where I am. He must have seen that my signal was scrambled.

He’s punishing me.

“You asshole…”

My thighs clench and my core flexes as dreadful waves of heavy warmth crash over me.

Hot tears of frustration return to my cheeks. They mix in with the cold sweat, blurring my vision even further.

Then, I slip.

It only takes the smallest puddle to send my feet flying up into the air. A split second later, my back slams against the hard rock below, knocking the wind out of me.

But my punishment isn’t over with yet. The path is on a slant, and I desperately reach out for something to grab onto as I slide towards the waves crashing below.

I don’t find anything.

Before I can scream out, I’m engulfed by the ocean. A fistful of salt water rushes into my open gullet, filling up my lungs until it feels like I’m going to explode.

Then, everything goes black.
