“Lilianna, fancy meeting you here,” the thug said in a singsong voice. “Sammy wants to talk to you. I’ve been instructed to bring you to him for a long overdue conversation.”

“No, thanks,” she said in a steady voice. “Sammy and I have nothing to discuss. Go back and tell him to let it go, and move on.”

“No can do, doll.” He motioned for his two friends to join the circle. One cracked his knuckles as if readying for a battle. “Why don’t you come with us quiet like? Tell your new friends to back off. You don’t want them to get hurt, do ya?”

Hunter laughed mirthlessly and shifted his position to directly in front of Lilianna and Dylan. Three men, even steroidal ones, shouldn’t be a problem. He tilted his head to one side, stretching his neck. Before another word was spoken or another knuckle cracked across from him, Hunter took three long steps toward the lead guy, blocking their path.

One simple unexpected forehead butt connecting with the thug’s nose made him fall immediately on his ass. Hunter then followed that movement with a hard elbow jab to the second man’s throat on his right, leaving only one man still standing. Two down, one to go.

He hadn’t even broken a sweat. The third guy, on Hunter’s left, attempted a straight-armed roundhouse punch, which was stupid. Hunter had plenty of time to dodge the blow, which granted would have been painful if he’d connected. But he hadn’t.

Hunter thrust his left leg out with a side kick intended for the guy’s knee. The guy moved his kneecap in the nick of time, saving it, but Hunter’s boot still connected to the man’s lower thigh, pushing him off balance and putting him on the ground, clutching his leg.

He then motioned for the pair still standing behind to follow him through the three men in various stages of writhing and moaning. None of them got up or followed.

Hunter quickly unlocked the vehicle and pointed to the backseat. They both climbed inside quickly without comment. He’d drive them straight to Enclave into their privately gated compound and to the home he shared with Dylan. The gate security of their compound would keep the thugs out.

He told them to duck down, even though he was fairly certain the windows were tinted enough that no one could see inside his SUV. Even if the thug had managed to see them leave, it would be impossible for him to follow them home.

“Not to be ungrateful, but where are you taking me?” Lilianna asked from the backseat.

“To our house.”

There was a pause. “You share women, and you share a house?”

“Makes it so much more convenient that way.” He glanced in the rearview at her expression. Eyes bright, neither a frown nor a smile shaping her lips, Lilianna looked like she was contemplating the idea of two men at once. Maybe. Hopefully. At least she didn’t look frightened any longer.

While he’d never pressure her into sex she didn’t want, Hunter mentally licked his chops at the delicious possibilities of the coming night and all the tricks he knew to persuade her to at least enjoy some pleasure for herself. Which, make no mistake, he and Dylan would also enjoy immensely.

Chapter Two

“My gut tells me I’m safe with the two of you. I hope my gut is correct.” Now that Lilianna was safely away from her greatest fear, she hoped she hadn’t just jumped out of the frying pan and into a blazing pool of wickedness.

Then again, maybe a little bit of sinful contemplation would be exciting. Two men at the same time, while sexy to contemplate, was something she’d never even considered before. She hoped she could handle it.

“It is,” Dylan answered. “You’re completely safe with us.” He stroked a hand down her back carefully. She relished his touch, wanted to revel in it, embrace him, and get comfortable in his arms for a long while. Her gaze then went to Hunter. He’d taken care of Sammy’s lead thug and his men seemingly without effort.

Lilianna was so relieved at getting away from Ted without getting caught and shoved into the back of a panel van headed for a fate worse than death, her whole body went suddenly limp. Every single muscle relaxed. She was ready to slump over in gratitude from the reprieve likely because of her first-time public seduction dance in the bar, and also the adrenaline rush during the short battle in the parking lot. She was spent.
