“No.” He grins.

“Open when you are.”

After a beat, he opens his eyes, and a gasp leaves him instantly.

From top to bottom, the walls are decorated with warm fairy light curtains giving the room a romantic glow. Each string of lights has photographs of the two of us pegged to them and soft music plays in the background. A bunch of red roses stands in the center of the coffee table, but this is only the beginning.

“Wow. Asher. This is amazing.” He looks around, taking in the lights and the images of us. “Thank you so much.”

I can’t help but smile. I’ve realized it doesn’t take much to please Wade. Less is more, and I adore him for that. “This isn’t your main present you know. This is just the beginning.”

He turns to look at me. “Really?”

“Take a good look around, Wade. Join all the dots.”

He walks around the room, and soon enough his hand covers his chest when he focuses on some of the photos. “There’re pictures of Jonny on here as well as us.”

“There are. Notice anything else?”

He turns around, scanning his eyes everywhere. “There are suitcases. And… and there’s my globe.” His eyes fly back to mine. “Why is my globe out here?”

Taking his hand in mine, I say, “You told me that when it came to adventures you and Jonny always spun the globe and wherever it landed you went. You also told me that you wanted more adventure back in your life, correct?”

“Yes,” he whispers.

I walk us over to the globe on the side table. “Well now is the time to start again.”

“Asher.”

“We are going to spin it, together, and wherever our fingers land, we will make it our adventure this time. We can create memories for ourselves doing all the things you wanted to do with him but never got the chance and continue doing what Jonny would have wanted you to do.”

There are tears in his eyes, and I squeeze his hand a little tighter in reassurance.

“Are you sure you want to do this with me?”

“Wade, I want to spend my life with you. So yes, I’m sure. Wherever the place, we will go. Even if we’ve both already been. We’ll go again and make it ours.”

He nods, blowing out a heavy breath, and it’s only now I realize just how big a deal this is for him.

“I’ve not done this in years.”

Sensing his anxiousness and me eager to reveal the surprise, I pick up his hand, lifting it up to my lips and kissing his knuckles before linking his fingers with mine, making sure our pointers are placed together. “Close your eyes and spin,” I whisper, looking at him.

He does just that, but I keep my eyes open, locating the country I want our fingers to find with my free hand and stopping the globe just as Wade starts counting down.

“Three, two, one.”

Moving our hands, I place our pointer fingers exactly where I want them and place my mouth to the corner of Wade’s, hoping he’s not realized what I’ve done.

“Wherever it lands we will go,” I whisper. “Open your eyes when you’re ready.”

When he does, his breath halts when he sees where the tips of our fingers indicate.

“Asher…” he whispers, looking back at me. “It’s England.”

“I know.” I take the envelope out of my back pocket and silently hold them out for him to take.

He opens it, his eyes widening when he pulls out two flight tickets to London.
