“I feel like I just need to obey your apron,” she says, and that’s when I know she wants to kiss me again too.

“Never defy the apron,” I say. Our lips meet again.

I know we can stand here kissing all night, but I want to make sure that I’m going to see her again before we separate. Maybe I can even walk her home. I know in my heart and my very soul that I found the woman that I want to cook with for the rest of my life. And I hope she feels the same way about me.

I lift my head, and she whispers softly, “I think I found a pastime that I love more than cooking.”

“I hope you don’t try that out on anyone but me.”

“No. It’s only you.”

I kiss her again, and before I walk her home, we’ve agreed that the two of us together are better than the two of us apart, and I feel like we’re laying down the foundation for the rest of our lives. And that’s something I couldn’t be happier about.
