Sadie groans next to me, even the impatient little thing. Her bodywiggles so she can push the door open and see the nursery that we created for her.

Since we didn’t know what the babies sex was we had gone with a light blue color wall with these 60’s styled flowers drawn on the wall in a light peach, soft yellow, a sage green, and a lavender color. Ant and Jace had been painting them so it was the perfect mural for the baby.

The crib, which had taken me and Jace weeks to hand make so that it would be up to the safety standards but also have all the magic we wanted to create for her, was in the corner. It was made of oak, a soft stain on it with the back panel made so it could convert into a headboard that our baby could use as they transitioned to toddler and child sized beds. I wanted to make a crib for each of our children, a gift that could grow with our babies.

Maybe when they had babies we could continue the transition and make beds for their babies too.

The crib had a canopy on top in a soft white fabric that hung around the sides. A mobile was set up with all the Scooby Doo characters that Cameron had 3-D printed and painted in soft pastels. When it spun, a lullaby version of the theme song played.

On the wall, above the changing table that Jace had set up with organic diapers and wipes for what I thought was for the next ten years, was a few masks we had found and hung up to match the theme.

Next to the changing table, was a door that led into the bathroom on the left, with just a toilet, sink, and a glass shower incase of baby blowouts. On the right side was a closet that had so many outfits handpicked by Ant. He had also insisted that we put in a stackable washer and dryer so that it was easier to wash the baby clothes as they got dirty.

Back in her nursery was the same oak as the crib. We had imagined our omega rocking our baby to sleep in the chair so we had wanted her to think of us too and know we were with her.

Over the chair hung several photos. From the first trip to the ranch to the maternity photos we had taken last week, whoever sat in thatchair would be reminded of the love our pack had for each other and the joy we experienced together.

Sadie was quiet as she touched everything. Her fingers touching the board books Cameron and Jace had researched and picked out. Fingers gliding over the wood of the crib that I had been sweating over. Her cheek brushing against the soft blanket Ant had folded over the chair for her.

“What do you think?” Ant couldn’t sit in the silence.

All of us were on our toes as we looked around the nursery trying to see it through our omegas eyes. What if she didn’t like it and was upset she let us do this? The idea was horrifying.

She turned to us, a smile spreading across her face as she looked at us.

“Zoinks! Nice nursery, bros.”

And just like that we realized that our omega knew exactly what we were trying to do here. That she appreciated it and loved it just as we did.

That we really were getting our happily ever after.
