Crushing on the Mountain Men

“I wake easily. Holdover from national guard. Now that one,” he nodded towards Davin. “He is not a morning person.”

“Good to know,” I said.

Creed lifted me out of the bed and into the bathroom. Then he tossed in a soft blue robe. “I forgot I had that. Feel free to use it.”

A minute later, after I’d finished going to the bathroom and brushing my teeth with a new toothbrush I found on the counter, Creed knocked on the door again.

I opened it to find he had two Tylenol and water.

“I have nothing stronger,” he said.

“This is perfect. It’s not that bad.” But I took them right away.

Creed picked up the brush I was trying to use, and started brushing out my dark hair.

“I don’t know if I can shower yet,” I said. “I have a follow up appointment tomorrow.”

“We may help you bathe, or we could get an arm cover in town,” he said.

I was still picturing him in the bathtub with me, as I didn’t think that tub would fit all three of us.

I heard Davin shuffling past the bathroom, and a minute later I heard a coffeemaker. “Hi, Kailee,” he called.

Creed rolled his eyes.

I followed him to the kitchen, belting the huge robe around me.

“My youngest sister gave that to me for Christmas,” he explained.

“I love it.”

Soon they handed me a cup, and I watched as Davin made toast and Creed scrambled eggs.

“The fantasy is continuing here,” I said. The ache in my arm was going away, and I was loving being here with them.

After we ate, they let me help clear up a bit after I insisted.

“What if we surgically taped a garbage bag around her arm? Then she could shower.” Davin said.

Creed nodded. “That might work.”

“It’s fine, really.” I didn’t want to keep making them take care of me.

“How will you get dressed?”

I knew I needed help. I was planning to go home and then call Tina, though I knew this was where I wanted to be.

“How is the water?”

They were standing outside the shower, after helping me in with my taped arm.

Three shower heads made this experience like a spa. “Good.” I quickly showered with a washcloth and then their pine-smelling shampoo. It felt odd that they were waiting, but when I opened the shower curtain, I saw Davin shaving, neatening up his beard, and Creed was brushing his teeth.

“We don’t usually get ready together,” Creed said, finishing and moving to grab me a towel. “We just wanted to make sure you didn’t fall.”Davin took a comb and untangled my hair.

Yes, this was definitely a spa.
