“We all did,” Hawk murmured. “We’ve all been working too hard. But, it’ll be worth it soon.”
I nodded and turned my head, meeting Rosie’s gaze. She raised a brow. She knew me too damn well, a frown tugging at her lips.
It was time to tell them.
“I have a little announcement,” I said slowly.
Rosie quickly got off Ash, sitting cross-legged on the beach towel. Ash immediately turned over and sat up. Hawk did the same, the two of them focusing on us entirely.
My heart pounded a little faster. This had been a hard decision to make, but it was one I knew was right. I’d been a neurosurgeon at my job for years and there’d never been a good time to move. Since the four of us had been together, we’d been working to try and find times in the year we could be together. Rosie and I lived together, Hawk and Ash lived tougher, and the four of us had made it work—with the dream that one day we’d all be together.
And now…
Now that dream was going to come true.
“I’ve been working at my hospital for over four years now,” I said slowly. “As you all know. And it’s put a huge strain on our relationship.”
Ash immediately shook his head. “It’s not a strain, Greg. We all knew that getting that position was important to you. And we’ve made it work.”
“We have,” Rosie said.
“Your job is important,” Hawk said. “And while there have been challenges for all of us, it’s never been something we haven’t found a way to make work.”
“I know,” I agreed. “And for that, I am grateful. But, I’ve been keeping an eye out for other positions that would put me closer to where Ash and Hawk live. Rosie, with your job, you’re able to transition to any city. And we’ve all talked in-depth about how we’d move closer if we ever had the chance. Well, I received an opportunity that would put us just about an hour away.”
“Oh my god,” Rosie squealed.
Hawk’s eyes lit up. “You found one?”
“I did,” I said, my throat tightening. “I didn’t want to say anything until I got confirmation, but I’ll be making the transition if it’s something we all want.”
“Doyouwant it?” Ash asked slowly. “Do you really want to change places? Uproot everything you’ve worked for?”
“Yes, I want it. This is what I’ve worked for,” I said. “Thisright here. The three of you.”
“Oh Greg,” Rosie whispered, tears springing to her eyes. “Fuck. We’ve been waiting so long for this.”
“We have. Come here,” Ash murmured.
I went to him, only to be dragged into the middle of the three of them. Heat rushed to my cheeks, a soft laugh leaving me as Rosie peppered kisses on my face, Hawk squeezed me, and Ash planted more kisses on my shoulders.
I had the three best partners I could ever ask for. The love between us continued to grow and push us to new places.
“Does this mean this is the last time we’ll have a vacation like this?” Rosie whispered. “Where we haven’t seen each other in so long because we all work and live in different places?”
“Yes, my love,” I said. “That’s why I wanted it to be something special.”
Hawk sniffled. “I’m really happy right now.”
“Me too,” Rosie whispered.
“Me three,” Ash said, kissing me again. “Now I know why you asked me to go so extra on everything. I just thought it was for fun.”
“It was,” I chuckled. “But it was also because I wanted it to be a summer vacation we’d never forget.”
This vacation was the perfect escape, and now I was looking forward to a future with my perfect partners that burned brighter than the summer sun.
“This also means we’ll all be together this fall,” I said slowly.
I felt Rosie smile against me. “Oh?Interesting.”
“Interesting, indeed,” Hawk said.
Ash smirked. “I’ll start making my evil plans now. It’ll be the perfect hunt.”
We couldn’t wait to find out exactly what he meant by that.
