“Yeah,” Jenna said enthusiastically. “That sounds fun.”
The two of us finished the rest of the movie, and then Jenna kissed me goodnight and headed to her room, and I headed to mine. When I walked inside, Reed was lying on the bed shirtless and ready for bed.
“You didn’t come back down after putting Mica to bed?”
“I thought I’d let my girls have a little bonding time,” Reed replied. “And the bed looked so comfy.”
I smiled and slipped onto the bed next to him. He pulled me close, and I sighed against his chest. “Jenna and I are going to have a girls’ lunch this weekend,” I told him. “You and Mica can have a boys’ day.”
Reed laughed. “Okay, sounds good,” he agreed. “How about we do a day trip somewhere on Sunday?”
I nodded. “I’m game.”
Reed kissed me on the forehead. “You know… I’ve been thinking.”
“Yeah?”
“Two seems such a small number… don’t you think?”
“Um… sure, but that depends on what you’re talking about,” I pointed out. “Whatareyou talking about?”
“Well… I’m talking about kids,” Reed smiled. “Don’t you think two kids is kind of… boring?”
I laughed. “Hmm… I kind of suspected we would be having this conversation soon.”
“You did?”
“Well, I’ve noticed you getting a little sentimental lately,” I said. “What with Jennifer’s pregnancy and the fact that Jenna entered double digits and all.”
“It went by so fast,” Reed said, shaking his head as if in disbelief. “We’ve been together more than five years now.”
“I know.” I nodded. “Feels like we met just yesterday.”
“So?” Reed asked. “What do you think? You interested in another baby?”
I smiled. “Are you kidding?” I asked. “I would love to have another baby; three kids would be perfect.”
“It’ll also be chaos.”
“It’s the kind of chaos I like though,” I said. “And anyway… Mica and Jenna are old enough now. Plus, Jenna’s going to love having a baby around again. She’ll be a huge help to me if I get pregnant.”
Reed kissed me, and I could tell he was already imagining our third child. “I hope we have another girl,” he said. “I mean, it doesn’t really matter… but another girl would be nice.”
I thought about baby clothes and cribs and stuffed bears, and I felt a warm feeling spread through my heart. I was definitely ready to have another child.
“We’re doing this then?” I asked, pulling Reed closer to me.
“We’re doing this.” Reed nodded.
“Guess it’s time to throw out my special pills,” I said.
“It’s also time to remove those clothes,” Reed said, pulling apart the buttons on my blouse.
“Wow… you don’t waste any time, do you?” I laughed.
“Nope,” Reed replied. “This time next month, you’ll be pregnant.”
I laughed at how excited he was and slipped my hand into his boxers. He kissed my neck, and I closed my eyes and imagined our next adventure.
