My head was still spinning from the intensity of his kiss, and I couldn’t understand how he’d managed to stop it. “What’s the problem?”

Even with his back toward me, I could see the way he had to adjust himself before turning to face me.

“Forget this ever happened,” he said.

“You expect me to forget a kiss like that? Can you?”

Levi schooled his face into an inscrutable expression, the conflicted look I saw earlier gone. “Yes.”

“Why? And don’t spout off some bullshit about not wanting this, because clearly you do.” I gave a pointed look at his tented pants, and Levi’s gaze hardened, his arms crossing his chest.

“Look, Killian. You’re hot. I’m not fucking blind, okay? And yeah, this”—he pointed between us—“would be scorching, because I know exactly what I’d do to a guy like you.”

Goddamn, that sounded promising. “Then come on,” I said, spreading my legs in invitation as I gave him a seductive smile. “Don’t you wanna have a little fun?”

“No. I don’t break my rules. And rule number one is don’t fuck a client. Never have, never will. No matter how tempted I might be.”

I leaned back on my hands. “Anyone ever tell you that’s a shittastic rule?”

“No one’s ever had to.”

Huh. Was he admitting I was the only one he’d ever been tempted to break his rules for? I could work with that.

“I need to get back to the party, and so do you,” Levi said, straightening his shirt and running his hand through his blond hair. With one final look, he walked off, leaving me hot, hard, and still horny as hell in a private cabana meant for two.

I definitely hadn’t expected Levi to shut me down tonight, and while part of me felt frustrated by the rebuff, another part of me was waking up to the challenge Levi had just put forth.

He wanted to play by the rules, huh? Well, there was one thing I knew about rules: they were made to be broken.
