As Killian shoved up and hopped off the bed, I drank in the sight of his sweat-slicked body and licked my lips. I had no idea what time it was, how long we’d been sating the insatiable lust that roared between us. Something told me the sun would rise before my hunger abated.

“You didn’t fall asleep on me, did you?” Killian asked, as he sauntered back into the room, a towel in hand and a self-satisfied smile on his mouth. “I mean, I know I’ve been working you overtime and all, but I’m not nearly done with you yet.”

“And here I thought I was off the clock.”

“As a rock band’s manager, you should know by now you’re never off the clock.”

As Killian climbed back on the bed, he tossed me the towel and stretched out beside me. “So what would you call this?” I asked.

Killian ran his eyes down me. “A one-on-one personal client consultation.”

I scoffed. “And what exactly are we consulting on?”

“Compatibility?”

“Hmm,” I said, and tossed the towel aside now that I was done with it. “I can see how that’s important.”

“Very,” Killian agreed, stroking his fingers along my hip. “I mean, I don’t let just anyone see me so naked and…vulnerable.”

My eyes dropped to Killian’s stiffening length, and I arched an eyebrow. “You don’t look too vulnerable to me.”

“It’s a nervous condition.”

“And I make you nervous?”

Killian reached for my hand and drew it up to his chest. “The way you make me feel makes me nervous.”

My heart thumped as I stared into Killian’s blue eyes. What I saw there made me want to dive headfirst into everything and anything with him. “You really mean that, don’t you?”

Killian leaned over and brushed his lips across mine. “Finally, you’re listening.”

“Well, your cock is pretty persuasive.”

His mouth fell open and his eyes widened.

“What?”

“I was trying to be sincere,” Killian said.

“I know. So was I.”

Killian chuckled. “You know, I think I like this side of you.”

“You think? I thought you were sure,” I teased.

Rolling his eyes, he said, “If I say something sincere here, are you going to make fun of me?”

“I’ll think twice about it.” When Killian groaned, I laughed and pushed against his chest. “I’m kidding. I just never knew you could be so…sweet.”

“Keep it up and I won’t be.”

“Okay, okay. What were you gonna say? No smartass retort here, promise.”

When he shook his head, I crossed my heart. He sighed.

“You asked me if I was sure about this. Levi, I was sure about you from the minute you walked into my life.”

“See, when you say things like that, it makes me want to believe you.”

“Then why don’t you?”

I swallowed hard. “I think I’m starting to.”

“Good. Because you have to know I would never hurt you.”

I wanted so badly to trust what Killian was telling me, I really did. But I wasn’t one to let myself easily fall. Not after the pain of what I’d gone through the last time.

But maybe…just maybe…this time would be different.

“Let me in,” Killian said, leaning his forehead against mine. “Let me be the one for you.”

As I lay there in Killian’s arms, the night settling in around us, I found myself drifting off and imagined what it would be like to belong to Killian, and for him to belong to me.

Twenty-Seven

Killian

BAM BAM BAM.

The sound of someone pummeling the door startled me out of a deep sleep as someone shot up from the bed beside me.

Not just someone—Levi.

Holy shit. I was still in his room. I barely remembered passing out, though it couldn’t have been that long ago.

Pushing up on my elbow, I rubbed the back of my hand over my eyes and watched as Levi picked up the sweatpants he’d been wearing last night. The sun filtered in through the curtains, lighting him up, his luscious backside on full display.

Beneath the sheet resting at my hips, my cock jerked, more than ready for another round.

BAM BAM BAM. “Why is no one answering their fucking door?” Viper yelled.

Levi froze and looked back at me. He didn’t need to say anything; in two seconds flat I was up, wrapping the sheet around my waist as I moved out of sight.

What the hell did Viper want so early?

Before the banging could start again, I could hear Levi unlocking the door and pulling it open. Keeping my back against the wall, I scooted closer to the edge, still staying out of sight, so I could hear what was being said.

Viper let out a low whistle. “Didn’t realize you worked out, Levi.”

Shit, he didn’t bother with a shirt, did he? Not that I could blame him—he should be naked all day, every day—but I didn’t need Viper getting an eyeful of what was mine.

Mine…? When did I start thinking of Levi as mine?

Levi cleared his throat. “What do you need, Viper?”
