I internally snort.
Jarron holds me a bit higher of esteem than I think I deserve.
The options are endless.
The truth is, I want all of those things—eventually. But right now, it’s hard to think past the next year. What I want most of all is for my sister to be okay.
“I suppose Moonstone makes the most sense,” I say. “It’s close to Shadow Hills and my parents.”
Is that a firm decision?
I consider it for a few more moments. The I nod.
“I’ll make the call tomorrow.”
It makes the most sense. We have all the time in the world to have experiences. Right now, I’m going to choose to be close to my family—while also learning how to live up to my new nickname—the poison queen.
“I can’t believe this is almost all over,” Janet whispers.
I smile at her and then to Jarron. “This is only the beginning.”
