“I did. I do. But you find things to make it worthwhile.” Jacob smiled.
“I’m learning new things.”
“Are you fucking someone behind the counter?” Tic responded. “No, of course not.” Jacob snorted.
“Really? You should. It’s fun. I mean even I’ve done it. Sex at work is
the best.”
“You fucked someone here?” Jacob looked around the salon. It had
seemed so clean and nice before.
“Here, there, in the chair.”
“In this chair?”
“Don’t worry, I wiped it down… mostly.” Tic examined how Jacob’s hair
looked in the mirror. “How do you feel about letting your hair grow out a
bit? I think you’d look good with it longer.” Tic responded by massaging
Jacob’s scalp slightly.
“I’ve got a style that works for me. I’m comfortable. Please don’t mess
that up for me.” Jacob pleaded.
“Okay, fine. We cut your hair this time, but then we made a plan okay?
We can find you something better.”
“Or I come back in another two weeks and we do the same thing again?” “We can find you something better.” Tic looked into the mirror. He once
again returned his hands to Jacob’s head when this time, Jacob noticed
something. It looked like a couple sparks were emanating from Tic’s
fingertips. He could feel a faint tingle as Tic’s fingers gently kneaded into
his scalp.
“What was that?”
“What was what?” Tic asked, confused.
“Your hands just…what was that?” Jacob asked, peering at Tic’s hands. “Oh nothing I’m sure. I don’t know what you’re-” Tic was interrupted
by another series of sparks.
“There! It happened again!” Jacob exclaimed. “Are your hands on fire?” “It must just be the light…” Tic shrugged as Jacob tried to get out of
the chair but Tic held him down. He was being evasive and Jacob knew it. “I never saw light do that before. You’re doing something with your
hands! Teddy, you’ve seen it right?”
“No, sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.” Teddy responded. If Tic was
