Her expression is pure joy. There isn't a doubt in her mind that she and Kit should be together forever.

Bella smiles. "It is."

"It's only been a few hours. Right now, I feel like I'm never going to get tired of staring at this ring." She holds it up to the light, her eyes wide with wonder. "It's shiny. And…" She lets out another dreamy sigh.

"We can leave you alone with that thing. Come back after you two are satisfied," I tease.

"No, I… That's ridiculous," she says.

"So you're a right-hander?" I ask.

"What?" She clears her throat. "You don't mean—"

Bella laughs. "Of course you mean."

"Just curious. Some people go dominant hand. Some go non-dominate," I say.

"And you masturbate so often you have to switch hands because they get tired." Piper tries to make her voice teasing, but she's still blushing.

"You really think that would embarrass me?" I ask

"Well… I guess not. Ahem." Piper looks to me. "Something tells me this proposal didn't surprise you."

I play coy.

She throws her arms around me and hugs tightly. "Thanks for helping him. Not just with this. But always… with everything."

Bella's gaze catches mine. She smiles knowingly. I'm not sure what it is she knows. Whatever it is, I like her knowing it.

If it was anyone else, I'd hate that look.

But I do want Bella knowing me.

All of me.

Piper pulls back with a smile. "Kit's parents went for a walk with your mom. She's so sweet and her sweater is adorable. It has this reindeer on it. She brought a matching one for you."

I have no doubt she's telling the truth.

"You're going to look amazing." Piper laughs. "It's just us, right now. Everyone else is on their way." She points out the bathroom, the tray of snacks, the drinks in the fridge. "Help yourself to anything. Or I can get you something."

"Thank you." Bella squeezes my hand. "I'll get some waters." She heads to the kitchen.

Piper waits until Bella is out of earshot then she leans in to whisper. "So…"

"So…?"

"What the fuck, Joel? I thought you and I were like this." She presses her pointer and middle finger together. "And I'm the last person to find out you were married."

"You'd have met Bella if you came to our show."

"It was twenty-one and over."

"That's never stopped you before."

"Excuse me for not going to my millionth Dangerous Noise show." She puts her hands on our hips. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't want to steal your fiancé's thunder."
