Flushed and freshly fucked, we walked to the front door with our hands intertwined. We never even saw the driver, which I appreciated. I was trying to figure out how to balance being slightly embarrassed by our backseat activities alongside being a bit turned on by the thought that he knew exactly what was going on.

“So for real,” I turned to him, “how did you get the car?”

“After about an hour of you grinding on me, I texted Miles and requested he give me the names of three drivers he trusted. He tried to argue, but I said I would not use him for this particular ride, so he sent me three, and I went down the line. I offered a large sum to the one who could pick us up and drive around until I texted him to bring us home. You drive me crazy, Audra. Normally, I’d have to do a background check on each of them, but all I could think about was getting you in the back of a goddamn car. And the dick-sucking “Sir” thing? Holy shit, that was the best surprise of my sexual life. I didn’t know what that was going to do to me. That was hot, Chaos,” he squeezed my hand in appreciation.

“But can we switch gears real quick,” he continued before I could respond. “I’m going to be honest, I’m not ready to get back on a plane in a couple of hours, though. I’ll have you know I get very grouchy if I don’t have my beauty rest.”

“Is that so?” I smiled at him as we got in to ride the elevator tohis floor.

“Oh, it’s so, all right.” He laughed as he put his arm around my shoulders. “I have a proposition. We push our flight home back until late afternoon/early evening. Let’s sleep in and have a lazy breakfast. We’ll see a couple more things, and have lunch with my sister, if we can nail her down. I would selfishly like to see Mike, and maybe even the others. Then we can head home?”

I looked up to kiss him quickly, “That sounds like a great plan,” and I rested my head back on his strong shoulder as he pulled out his phone to make arrangements as we rode up the elevator. Everything felt just right in that moment, from his hand, to our plan, to everything that happened tonight. We were really doing this.I smiled at the thought. It was going to be a fun ride.

Even though she was standing, I could sense her exhaustion on that elevator ride up. When the doors opened, she stumbled the slightest bit and complained about her shoes, so I picked her up to carry her. She wrapped her arms around me, buried her face in my neck, and whispered,“Thank you.”

We got into the apartment and I went straight for the bedroom, lying her down. Even though she was perfectly capable, I helped take her dress off and put one of my T-shirts on her. When she offered no resistance or argument, I realized just how tired she was. After she laid back down, she stuck her arm in the air for my attention, so I grabbed her hand.

“Donovan,” her tired voice croaked out, “tonight was amazing. I know we had a speed bump, but other than that, this trip has been remarkable. I enjoy everything about you, and I’m excited for us.”

That’s everything I could have wanted to hear. She smiled a sleepy smile at me that hit me right in my heart.

“Audra, I’m so grateful you are open to this chance becauseyou, my beautiful Chaos, are my absolute perfect.” I bent down to kiss her temple, but she turned her head, demanding a different one. The way we kissed was always magic, no doubt, but something about this time was different. Maybe it’s because the desperate sexuality wasn’t throbbing between us. Instead, it was a quiet, vulnerable moment between two people who had finally accepted the inevitability of each other. The kiss felt like a promise. After I got ready, I climbed into bed and fell asleep with her in my arms.

When my eyes blinked open the following morning, I could not have been more grateful that we pushed our flight back.

It was 10 a.m., and I couldn’t remember the last time I slept in. I reached over and pulled Audra into my body, wrapping my legs around her, and she willingly came. I didn’t know if I would ever tire of touching her. She shimmied her ass into me, and with her eyes still closed, told me to go back to sleep. That wasn’t going to happen, so I grabbed my phone and ran through a couple of things.

First, I ordered coffee to be delivered again, and then I texted my sister. Talking to her was imperative because I still needed to ask her about heading back to Savannah Springs to help me, which was impossible to do the night before. When she wasn’t dancing with the girls on the floor, she was cozying up to one of Nathan’s friends. I still wanted to ask Audra what the hell Jules was doing. It appeared pretty clear that Juliette and Murphy had something going on, but it was also clear what direction she and Nathan were headed that night. I was feeling protective of my new friend.

Good morning, Mackey Mae. Hope you had a good rest of the night. We pushed back our flight until early evening. We would love to see you today. Can you sneak away for food at some point?

McKenna

No way! Yes, I can meet you whenever and wherever you want me to. Let me know what you’re thinking and I’ll move my plans around.

Donovan

Want to do brunch? We can do that little brunch spot by your place. If we leave here in the next 30, we can be by you soon after.

McKenna

I need more time. 90-120.

Donovan

Ok, well, we can come by your place and hang out while you get yourself together.

McKenna

That’s not going to work.
