“Really good, did you?”
“Apart from being drooled on and the dead arm, it was perfect.”
Megan looked mortified. “I don’t drool!” She turned to the pillow, looking for evidence before wiping at her facefrantically.
“I’m joking.”
“Are you always this much ofa wind-up?”
“Yes.”
“I may have to re-think date number two then.”
Ashley pulled Megan in close. “I’d be really upset if you did that.” She lowered her bottom lip, eyelashesfluttering.
“What is that face?” Megan teased.
“It’s my unhappy face.”
“Well, it’s making me unhappy so stop.” She winked, prompting Ashley to tickle her torso. What erupted was a delirious belly laugh that brought her pure joy.
“What time is it?” Megan queried.
Ashley reached for her phone. “Ten.”
Megan jumpedup. “Crap.”
“What is it? Do you have to besomewhere?”
“I’m expecting a call from my agent at eleven and my phone’s dead.”
Megan grabbed her clothes and ran to the bathroom to freshen up. She returned five minutes later.
“I’m sorry that I have to leave so soon.”
“That’s okay, Iunderstand.”
“I had agreat time.”
“Me too.”
Megan reached her arms around Ashley’s back and leaned in for a kiss. “Those lips…” she murmured.
“What was that?”
“I like kissing you.”
“Yeah?”
“I wouldn’t mind doing it again, sometime.”
She held Megan’s face in her hands, softly cradling the angelic features of a person she barely knew but wanted to. As she parted her lips and made contact with Megan’s again and again, her want became a need. The smell of her perfume still lingered on her body from the day before, an intense fruity scent with coconut created a summer smell she would never forget. The feel of Megan’s hand running through her hair made her knees go weak and her stomach flutter, all the tell-tale signs of a real connection forming.
“I would really like to see you again.” Ashley pressed her lips against Megan’s between each word she spoke. “Soon.”
Megan smiled before stepping back and placing her hand on Ashley’s chest, “I will call you later and we can arrangesomething?”
“Okay.”
