“I really needto go now.”
“Go then.”
Megan turned to open the door, her eyes never wavering from Ashley’s. “Just onemore kiss.”
Ashley obliged willingly. One soon turned into five. They made their way slowly to the apartment door and then, all of a sudden, she was gone. Ashley ran her fingers through her hair as she pressed her back against the door, left with overwhelming memories of the best dateof her life.

“So, what was it like?”Emily said.
“What?”
“You know, the sex?”
“We didn’t have sex.”
“Yeah, and I’m the Virgin Mary.”
“Seriously, it didn’t get to that.”
“What? You were all over each other when Madswalked in.”
“Yeah, thanks for that by the way.” Ashley glared at Madison, who sat sheepishly across the booth at theirlocal diner.
“I don’t know why it didn’t happen. If I was to say it just didn’t need to happen, would thatmake sense?”
Emily raised her eyebrow, perplexed. “Absolutely not, no.”
Madison rolled her eyes as she often did in Emily’s presence, “Ignore Mrs. I-sleep-with-everyone-on-a-first-date. Tell us what you mean.”
“Everyone? I’m not a whore.”
“You could havefooled me.”
Emily launched one of her french fries in Madison’s direction, subsequently, it landed in her iced tea.
“Brilliant, now you can getme another.”
“That’s karma.”
Ashley coughed purposefully, the bickering between her two best friends often reached a boiling point, “Guys, back to the original conversation.”
“She started it,” Emily sulked.
“How old are you?” Ashley taunted.
They bothfell silent.
“I’m assuming you wanted it to happen? Like, you find her attractive?” Madison asked.
“100%, how could anyone not be attracted to her? It was just different, there was no pressure to have sex. We were just so comfortable with each other. Like, she literally fell asleep in my arms and we stayed that way the whole night. Who does that on afirst date?”
“Yeah, that’s not normal.” Emily agreed.
“See?”
Madison toyed with her grilled cheese sandwich. “It’s not normal to you because you just see it as an opportunity to get laid. I wouldn’t say it’s not normal. I’d just say it’s a little uncommon.”
