Erin’s eyes widen slightly when she hears the sound but her slightly worried look quickly turns into a grin when Levi wraps his hand around my neck, tilts my head back and kisses me firmly. Making my pulse race and my thighs clench.
“Damn that was hot!” She chuckles when Levi finally pulls back and takes his laptop over to the couch by the coffee table setting it up.
“Uh huh,” I mumble and her grin widens as Kai chuckles from my lap, his focus on the Tv still although obviously not entirely as his smirk widens into a grin.
“You back yet?” Erin sass’s and I stick my middle finger up at her.
“Yes!” I grin.
“What time are you getting here tomorrow?”
“I think our flight is booked for twelve thirty…” I say unsure.
“That’s right, Titch,” Maverick confirms for me.
“Ok so you won’t be here until well into the evening then,” she says absently and I frown.
It won’t take us that long to get there, it’s only a two hour flight and then an hour or so drive to the school. We should be there well in time for dinner.
“I don’t . . .” I start.
“Sorry I forgot where you were for a second. You should be here in time to grab a drink at least!” She smirks.
I eye her for a second, feeling like I’m not seeing something that I should but either her poker face is really that good or she is telling the truth.
I let it go.
“Yeah, that sounds about right!” I reply. “You owe me first round don’t forget!” I remind her grinning.
“No bitch you owe me first round!” She immediately fires back, chuckling.
The doorbell rings making Kai jump up for the first time since I sat down on the couch.
“Foods here!” He yells excitedly sprinting towards the door.
“I’ll leave you to it! Can’t wait to see you.”
“Me neither, we definitely still need that talk!”
“Don’t worry I haven’t forgotten.” She grins before her expression becomes serious again. “Sage, be careful travelling tomorrow.”
The words themselves are innocent enough, the usual sort of thing you say to someone you care about before they go on a long journey but her tone conveys a completely different, darker, almost warning. It’s severe enough that my guys all share a look, having picked up on it too.
“We will.” I reply nodding slightly to let her know I understand what she isn’t saying.
We say goodbye but the worry never leaves her eyes and it leaves me somewhat confused.
“So we’re definitely going armed tomorrow then,” Jax states simply, once we’ve hung up.
“I think that would be wise.”
“Alright enough of the serious, it sounds like we’re going to get a lot of it tomorrow and judging from what Erin said most likely for the entire time we are training at the academy. Tonight we celebrate the fact that Sagepassed her G.E.D!” Kai says sounding surprisingly serious for a change.
“Sounds good to me. Pizza me!” I reply with enthusiasm.
“Pizza you?” Hunter asks before cracking up laughing.
“It’s a thing!” I defend, my mouth already full of pizza.
