We get to the bowling alley and Jeremy looks like someone just kicked his puppy. He’s brooding about being here but I can feel a twinge of excitement from him.
We all walk up to the counter to get our shoes and balls, then settle in at our lanes. We got two and apparently we are competing, three versus three. The guys seem excited about being out all together and I love the idea of time as a group. I’m so grateful to Kiran for arranging it.
“Okay, so what are teams?” I ask.
Immediately Kiran and Jay both shout, “I call Aly!”
I roll my eyes at them, “you can’t call dibs on me all the time.”
“How else will we decide?” Kiran asks.
Nic steps in, “well, we should probably try to make the teams even. Jax is the best and Jeremy has never bowled so they should be on the same team with someone in the middle.”
I look over at Jax and raise my eyebrows, he blushes. I walk over to him and whisper, “you’re the best, huh?”
He lets out a soft laugh, “yup best bowler around, what a cool thing to be good at.”
“I think it is,” I say back with a smile then I turn to the group and speak up, “I’ll be with Jax and Jeremy, I’m average.”
Nic nods but Kiran and Jay both pout at me. It’s a smart choice though, Jeremy is only bowling for me and Jax isn’t going to call dibs for time with me. Plus, we are all still together, it’s not like anyone else will really get less time together.
Nic and Jax put our names in and I take a seat next to Jay.
“Consorting with the enemy?” He asks.
Kiran sits on my other side, and with a wink he says, “I can’t believe you didn’t chose our team, we are going to destroy you.”
“I’ll take my chances,” I say back to both of them.
Jay wraps an arm around my seat and we watch as Nic and Jax go. Jax gets a strike and Nic a spare.
Next up are Kiran and Jeremy, Kiran leans in close and gives me a sweet kiss.
“Kiss for luck!” He says as he walks away.
I shout back, “I did not give you any luck! You’re on the other team!”
But he gets a strike and smirks at me with an I told you so look on his face.
Jeremy knocks 7 down and for his first time I’m just proud he didn’t throw a gutter ball.
Next up, Jay and I. Luckily for our team I get a strike and Jay a spare. Everyone is surprisingly decent.
The game keeps going the same, Jax gets a strike every time which keeps us neck and neck with Kiran, Jay and Nic. It comes down to me and Jay at the end. Of course, Kiran doesn’t play fair so while I’m lining up he comes up behind me. He presses himself against me and leans down to whisper in my ear.
“You look so hot right now, will you come back to my room when we get home?”
I shiver, I want that so badly and I start imagining all the things he could do to me. I want his hands all over me, like they are now but without clothes. He’s running his hands up and down my sides.
“Is that a yes?” He asks.
Before I can answer Jeremy yells from behind us, “stop distracting my teammate!”
I startle, realizing where we are. I was so lost in my thoughts of Kiran, I didn’t realize I’m supposed to be bowling.
I glare back at him in accusation, “you did that on purpose!”
He smirks at me and brings a hand up to his chest, “who me? Never!”
